1.0 INTRODUCTION

1.1 Programmed Background

Physical and Health Education is the elective component in the Primary and Secondary school
Curriculum. It shows that Physical and Health Education is important in order to produce the
individual who can develop the balance self potential in the aspects of Intellectual, Spiritual,
emotional, and Physical. Nowadays, Physical and Health Education subject had been stress
because the existence of awareness towards Malaysian community which are healthy, able to
handle stress and having healthy Life Style.

A 2 days competency training program certified by Department of Occupational Safety and


Health, Ministry of Human Resource, Malaysia. This program is organized by the panitia of
Physical And Health Education. It is specially designed to train the layperson to become a
fully qualified first aider in order to provide competent help and care to the injured or ill
person during an emergency. These CPR training course will include both theoretical and
practical approach. There will be approximately 70% of practical work where each individual
participant will have a chance to participate during training.

1.2 Target group

The target group of this course would be the the students from SMK Seksyen 16 Shah Alam..
We believe that as a student this group should have necessary basic knowledge on First Aid
Treatment and CPR specifically. Students especially who are from form 4 and part of Red
Crescent Association are invited to join and involved in this programmed because it give
many benefits for the future use.

As the increase of awareness regarding the importance of healthy life style, Form Four
students and Red Crescent members, had planned a course which can help to implement the
ability for future needs beside develop personal soft skills during the emergency situation. It
also becomes government effort to encourage community with healthy life style.

2.0 RATIONALE

This course is very necessary for the s because we believe that they are surrounding with
unpredictable situation with all the students which will lead them to handle the situation
immediately.

In the daily life, accident and injury always happen in our body. As the things happen, some
steps or procedure need to be take to give the help to the victim. Emergency treatment or first
aid treatment is the early treatment given to someone who in injured because of accident or
immediate pain before the arrival of ambulance, doctor or any medical specialist. The First
Aid treatment can help form the injury to become more serious. Besides, The First Aid
Treatment can help to save life and recover the victim.

The programmed are important because:

1. By supporting the teaching and learning process to the difference ways learning, it is
hope that the target group will like the subject itself and not for other reasons.
2. Students can apply the concept in daily life.
3. Build the spirit among the student as well as to realize them that they can contributes
such big impacts in their future not excellent in the examination only.
4. To open student mind return to the God as The Created all things in this world.
5. Students will become more motivated in learning.

3.0 NEEDS ANALYSIS

The need of this programmed, , it also to develop the relationship between many parties
includes the students form among form Four and among the members of Red Crescent
Association, the teachers, the administration of school and The Red Crescent Association of
Malaysia It also the let the students inculcate healthy lifestyle, identifies self potential, and
existence of the yearly programmed that will give huge of opportunity to the students and
future educator to feel the real world of education.

There was an issue that students nowadays are weak on their understanding of the first
treatment concepts as well as the important uses of it in daily life. To find out if this issue is
true, a study was carried out for confirmation purpose. Hence, the questionnaire was
conducted on the students in order to identify their problems.

(A copy of the questionnaire is being attached as appendix A).

From the finding of the needs analysis, it was discovered that:


 Majority of the students stated that they did not know how to apply first aid treatment
concept in their daily life.
 A number of students stated that they find it difficult to apply treatment in their daily
life.
 All of the students stated that they taking physical education not because of their self
interest.
 Majority of the students faced difficulties in learning because they took the program
out of their parents’ request.
 Each of the students still lack confidence level and has low attraction towards the
treatment since they are only gain the knowledge theoretically but they have no
chances to learn the concept and apply in daily life though religious perspective.
 In class learning process, they only stressed on what the syllabus said.

4.0 THE CURRICULUM

4.1 The Philosophy of the Red Crescent Association(PBSM)

In this program, we refer to Red Crescent Association Philosophy as our guideline to conduct
this program that to produce individuals who are intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and
physical balanced and harmonious based on a firm belief in and devotion to God. Such an
effort is designed to produce Malaysian citizens who are knowledgeable and competent, who
posses high moral standards and who are responsible and capable of achieving a high level of
personal well- being as well as being able to contribute to the betterment of the family, society
and the nation at large.

4.2 Vision and Mission

4.2.1 Vision

1) To gain the knowledge, being more innovative, creative and competence.
2) To build conducive learning that will enhance talent, potential and attitude
development.
3) To unite the members of organizations by the spirit of team work and helping
each other.

4.3 Goal
To expose the uses of knowledge in First aid Treatment which is important in daily life based
on what students have learned at school.

4.4 Objectives
The main Aim and Goal of this Programmed are to :
a) Increase the awareness regarding the importance of First Aid as the earlier
treatment.
b) To produce the healthy Malaysia in the aspect of mentally and physically.
c) Expose the students the proper way of giving the first aid treatment.
d) Expose the students with the importance of healthy lifestyle.
e) To inculcate the moral value to the target group.

4.5 Content

The contents of the course were mainly taken from the secondary syllabus of Physical and
Health Education by referring to the textbook and syllabus content. From this programmed, all
students can have the benefits and can developed themselves towards in understanding the
learning. Students had have problem and misconception that the first treatment is really hard
then they can open their eyes that it is catchable and fun. After finished the program, student
can get advantages about the concept practically. For this activity, all students and the
administrators can get benefits or advantages.

4.6 Methodology
The methods of organizing the course will be divided into three parts which consist of

Through this session, students can share an experience from the speaker, which is give
by a person who is the presidents of Red Crescent Association (PBSM). It will
encourage student to interest in understanding and perform well in their studies. This
program also a like motivation program by the person who have succeeded in their
life. The program will open the student mind and heart setting to improve themselves
and achievement in gain knowledge for their future.

4.6.2 Practical Testing
Through this approach, student will experience aesthetics values, which are the beauty
of nature and environmental protection. This is one of way to help student understand
of the concept of Treatment. It will be more effective when they can experience by
their own. During this activity, each individual need to practice by themselves. While
for the facilitator, they will conduct each task or experiment by giving and share some
idea about the concept of treatment.

4.6.3 Examination
Through this approach students will experience the basic knowledge of first aid
treatment which will become throughout the lecture and practical session. Each
individual need to answer the examination question based on the lecture and practical
session. This activity will increase the student knowledge as well as shown the basic
information of each of them about the course. At the same time, they also getting to
know each other and learn in fun manner.

The evaluation form for this activity will be distributed to all participants at the
end of programmed. For those who pass the examination will be able to get the
card which will give them the advantage to become the committee members of
the Red Crescent Association (PBSM).

At the end of this program, it is hope that students would be successful in applying The First Aid
Treatment concept in daily life and students will succeed in learning emergency treatment. It is hope
that the program succeeds to help students in learning programmed.

This programmed should be done frequently for producing more visionary students who are not
interdependence. This is because, this programmed can be the derived for the participants to become
brave and strong in order the facing the daily life in the aspects of leadership, communication and
outsiders work. Besides that, this programmed also could help the Faculty to produce the students
with the broad experience and leading the treatment and emergency case.
