DETAILED SCIENCE LESSON PLAN

GRADE LEVEL QUARTER/DOMAIN WEEK & DAY NO. PAGE NO.
8 1st Quarter 2

I. OBJECTIVES  Infer that when a body exerts a force or

another, an equal amount of force is exerted
back on it.
 Demonstrate the third law of motion.
 Cite the importance of 3rd law of motion in real
life situation

A. Content Standards Demonstrates understanding of the Newton’s three

laws of motion and uniform circular motion

B. Performance Standards Develops a written plan and implement a

―Newton’s Olympics

C. Learning Competencies/Objectives Infer that when a body exerts a force or another, an

equal amount of force is exerted back on it (S8FE-Ib-
19)

II. CONTENT Inferring that When a Body Exerts a Force or Another,

an Equal Amount of Force is Exerted Back on It
III. LEARNING RESOURCES K to 12 Curriculum Guide Science (Kindergarten to
Grade 10) p 36
Exploring Life through Science Grade 7 pp. 225-226

IV. PROCEDURES
A. ELICIT State the first and second law of motion
B. ENGAGE What do you observe with these pictures?

C. EXPLORE Conduct “Action-Reaction” experiment.

D. EXPLAIN Discuss the result of the experiment by group in front

of the class.

E. ELABORATE What will happen to an object when it exerts force to

another object?
How will you describe Newton’s Third Law of
motion?
-A force is a push or a pull that acts upon an object as
a result of its interaction with another object. For every
action acted upon by an object, there is an equal and
opposite reaction with another object.
The two forces acting on the objects are called action
and reaction forces. The size of the forces on the first
object equals the size of the force on the second object.
The direction of the force on the first object is opposite
to the direction of the force on the second object.
Forces always come in pairs equal and opposite
action-reaction force pairs.

F. EVALUATE 1. Draw an example of Newton’s Third Law of

motion. Explain your drawing(5 points)
2. What are the importance of Newton’s Third
Law of Motion in real life situation?(5 points)
G. EXTEND Cut out Pictures describing Newton’s Third Law of
Motion

delivered for one hour
VI. REFLECTION
A. 90% of the students attained 8-10 points
B. 10% got 5-6 points
