I am designing a Raft foundation for a 3 storied RC wall structure with single basement below ground
Level. Considering water table to be 1m below ground level, I have calculated the water pressure and
applied on raft for analysis.

Please guide me on the Load combinations that have to be considered for analysis that includes Uplift
pressure. And suggest me if there is any codal provisions that has to be followed for Load combinations
that includes Uplift pressure considerations.

Arunbabu.S

Dear Er Arunbabu .S

A factor of safety of 1.2 is recommended for stability against upliftment

I think this is given in IS3370 part I , II

For raft foundation under construction you may also take a safeguard

sufficient DL is achieved by raft

With respect to below topic, I need a clarity on load combination, can we use load combination DL+LL+EQ+Uplift
