Why are we asking for a
Brazilian Server?

Lag/Delay: we want to play with a connection quality close to those of european

players. Having our ping reduced from an average of 120 ms to 40ms would greatly
improve our gameplay experience.

Prices Change: we know that the decision to make dedicated Brazilian servers involves
many factors but with the price hike in June this should offset the server expenses.
Improving access to local servers will improve player retention as the high ping and low
response rate of the game result in a clunky gameplay. This is very discouraging and
quickly diminishes the quality of our online experience.

Limited Gameplay: Limited gameplay: hardcore Ironman mode gave a new exciting
game mode. While Runescape 3 team decided it could mitigate the effect of
disconnects (both player and server side) through the use of multiple lives this just isn’t
a reasonable safeguard for the Brazilian community.

End game Ironman mode revolves around high level bossing to get the best gear.
Vorago for seismics araxxor for noxious weapons and legiones for ascensions are just
the tip of the iceberg. Having delay or lag can be a death sentence.

And the worst part is these are just stepping stones to get to the newest bosses such
as Nex AoD, Telos, Magister, and Solak. All in all the current servers handicap our
abilities to push the boundaries of our hardcore ironmen and casual players due to
their non-responsiveness.

Australian Players: we’ve been taking careful note of how Jagex has been
approaching Australian servers due to their similar issues. Relative to our wealth we
pay more for worse internet so we are aware of the infrastructural issues.

We know this request is a long shot but it’s worth a shot. The Brazilian community has
grown and loved this game for too long to not try. We value all of our achievements we
have accomplished but there’s one left. We need to offer our voice as the community
leaders to help promote the well being and longevity of the BR-PT Runescape servers.

All of this game’s content is pushed out on time through the localization teams but
some of their efforts will never be noticed. For some of the community the current
servers restrict what we are able to do too much to fully enjoy the BR-PT part of the
game.
Why benefit us only?

You will see this map of Brazil is divided up in a green

outer barrier and a red central location. This
differentiation is based on population density wich
plays Runescape.

Most of the Brazilian population is located in the center

and in effect so are the majority of the Brazilian
community. Therefore we propose a server be located
within the red zone to provide the closest access to the
most players.

By having such a argue area it also opens the

opportunity for Jagex as a company to find cheaper
locations to host the game than right in the middle of the
largest cities. Finally, the benefits of a Brazilian server
don’t end just with the BR-PT community. Having a
server located in the red zone would offer reliable
access to the game for many South Americans.
