5 mins
Ask one-three students to summarise what Kid President has to say about
how we can change the world.

“So, Kid President tells us that that WE have the power to change the
world… so I would like to brainstorm some ways that we can spread
kindness and make Woodland Grove AWESOME!”

Lesson Activities:

Create a brainstorm on the board under the heading “How WE can spread Clean whiteboard and

Ask students for suggestions and write them on the board (eg. Helping
others, including people in games, no put downs, being a good listener,
sharing nicely, thanking/complimenting others, respecting everyone,
standing up for people being bullied, doing the right thing etc.)

Once a decently sized brainstorm has been established, bring up a EBoard and
5 mins PowerPoint slide introducing the task and success criteria and verbally Instruction/Success Criteria

4. Students are to decorate their hands

Before sending students back to their desks, check for understanding by


asking a student to reiterate the instructions. Select students to return to
their desk, one group at a time.

10 mins Students will complete their poster. Poster Worksheets


Markers
Whilst students are working, walk around the room and help students to Pencils
generate/refine ideas and ensure they are on task.

Transition
5 mins Remind students when they have one minute remaining to assist with the
transition. Once working time is up, students may pack away their
markers/pencils and pass their posters to one group member who will place
them on the teacher’s desk.

Plenary
Once students have packed away, they may return to the mat where they
will raise their hands and share 1 suggestion for spreading kindness at
school before they can go to lunch
