This OJT program is expected to equip students with the necessary knowledge and to
develop their computer engineering skills when they get involve in actual industry project
providing gainful insights on corporate working environments. The OJT companies are
afforded with opportunity to have a first-hand pick on potential students being trained at
minimal cost.
The trainee, through this OJT program, shall also focus on the corporate use of technology,
management strategies, and organizational behaviours. An in-depth discussion on learning
on these topics shall be compiled and to be reported by the trainee at the end of the
program.
IMPORTANT: Students are not allowed to request for over-time work or early release of
Certificate of Completion of the training program. A violation of any of these will mean no
credit for the rendered time by the students in the company.
3. Student Qualifications
Students who wish to undergo the OJT program should be in their last term prior to the
completion of their program of study as prescribed in the catalogue of information and
should be officially enrolled in the course required for OJT.
4. Procedures
a. Request for Letter of Recommendation - Students who will enrol the OJT course
and who will request for Letter of Recommendation are required to submit to
the Dean’s Office his/her resume in a long brown manila envelope. Include in
the envelop a 3x5 index card with the following information:
b. Initial Screening - The office will provide the student with a letter of
recommendation after having been interviewed by the Dean or his/her
representative.
e. Submission of Waiver - The trainee after being accepted by the company for
the training and upon submission of Letter of Acceptance by the company to
the Dean’s office shall immediately secure a waiver for OJT from the Dean’s
Office. The form must be accomplished by the trainee to formalize the training.
A copy of which must be submitted to the Dean’s Office and to the course
adviser for record purposes. Failure to submit this form means forfeiture of
rendered company hours.
h. Oral Presentation - The trainee should present his/her activities in the company
to a panel of critics. The trainee is considered passed if the members of the
panel concur to the trainee’s accomplishments. The trainee will be graded by
the panel of critics using the criteria given at the OJT Oral Presentation Rating
Form. The date and time of the oral presentation should be agreed by the OJT
course adviser, the panel members, and the student. The student is given the
freedom to choose his/her panel members. In case the student has no available
panel members, the OJT course adviser may provide the required panel
members. OJT report must be given to the panel members at least 3 days prior
to the agreed date of Oral Presentation.
5. Grading System
The basis of computation of Final Grade for the course will be based on the following:
Final Average = Oral Defense * 0.3 + Final Document * 0.1 + Company Rating * 0.6
