Meeting with Dr.

Zahoor:

 A similar product such as Cowlar has been in the market for quite some time in Holland
with mixed results. (Need clarification on this as to whether this product is differentiated
from this one or not)
 Research on what has been traditionally been done in Holland through similar devices as
Cowlar.
 In order to identify problems in Pakistan, first study how the product is doing in USA and
what problems are being faced there.
 First thing is to require further clarification as to what the objectives of the project are.
This is in regards to things such as what type of farms, type of animals. These details
need to be put on paper and have to be to some extent specific.
 Secondly, what parameters are they currently using? Define them clearly. For example
type of farm, conditions, etc.
 Can have a range within these parameters. For example, farms with at least 20 animals or
more.
 Put on timeline as to what will happen between the 10 weeks and who will carry out what
role.
 Use the MCP document to have further clarification for the TOR.
• Define type of farms
Farms • Define the target market (what
type of farmers to approach)

Process • How to define the process

Development • Set up a business model

What a TOR document encompasses?

A TOR refers to the document that details an assignment for an individual consultant or a team of consultants.
It is typically developed during the planning phase of a consultancy project.

The TOR Report of MCP should provide clear details of:

1. Why and for whom the consultancy project is being carried out
2. What the project intends to accomplish (Don’t under- or over-promise. Be very specific.)
3. How it will be accomplished (methodology)
4. What are specific milestones/deliverables and when these milestones/deliverables will be reached
5. What is the weekly schedule broken down into discrete actionable steps with beginning and ending dates,
and the student(s) responsible for each step (A Gantt chart should be provided incorporating detailed
information pertaining to the project, template of Gantt chart is provided in Appendix B)
6. Who (e.g. students, faculty, specific managers or functional units in client organization, and client’s
vendors etc.) will be involved in the project, in what capacity, and at what point in time
7. What resources (e.g. funds, information, access to facilities, boarding/lodging, and managerial guidance)
are required and when and how the resources would be made available
8. What are the risks involved (e.g. non-compliance risk, outsourcing risk, time risk etc.) and contingency
plan(s)
