Dear Parents and Guardians

This message is to inform you that London police today are investigating a second report of a
man handing food to students at Aberdeen Public School. Last Wednesday, a man was
reported offering candy to students through the school fence.

While police say offering food or other items to children is not criminal in nature, it is cause for
concern and they are interested in speaking with the man. He is identified as Caucasian, in his
50s, wearing multiple hats at one time (possibly a cowboy hat), cargo shorts, long grey socks,
and carrying a backpack and a grocery bag.

Aberdeen Public School staff are making extra efforts to monitor the playground and have
discussed with students the importance of not accepting items from strangers.

Police and school administration suggest parents and guardians take this opportunity to review
with your children the rules of personal safety and contact with strangers. For more information,
please contact the school office or the London Police Service at 519-661-5670 or Crime
Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)

Sincerely,

Jennifer Tudhope, Principal

Aberdeen Public School
