Subject : Introducing bypass cable for stepping motor

1. Background of Information
The followings are the example of the typical trouble phenomenon concerning the engine control.
- The engine speed suddenly falls and then goes up (fluctuating)
- The governor motor stall from high speed range
- Unable to stop engine
Under these phenomenon, monitor display indicates error code of "Current NG" and or
"Step motor start point NG ".
And replacing the KPSS controller or the stepping motor might not work to solve the
problem if the error originated from coupler connection and damaged wire harnesses.
Primary troubleshooting would be to inspect the wire harness of the A and B coil (4P
coupler), and also the harness of the starting point (3P coupler) as an action.
In the case of the reconditioning the couplers and tracing up the damaged wire harness do
not work to solve the problem, then we recommend you to use "BY-PASS-CABLE"
connecting stepping motor directly to the KPSS controller.
We are introducing "BY-PASS-CABLEs" to ease your troubleshooting as service tool and
would be available from Kobelco Parts center.
