First Demonstration Teaching

Narrate how it went

The Peer Teaching or free service teaching was went during the said schedule
every Friday of the present months of April and May, it was started April 27, 2018 the
said code was executed by the person who was so very diligent, strenuous, Hard-
Working and Industrious our Teaching Instructress none other than Ma’am Eden Anne
Mariz Ratcho.

All incoming fourth year of S:Y 2018-2019 was compulsory to attend the said
free service teaching, we are almost 65 Teacher education students by the annual of the
respective sections that consists of Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) Major of
English, Math, Filipino and Values Education and Bachelor of Elementary Education
(BEEd).

The Peer Teaching for education students of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart
College has proposed to develop the teaching learning and teaching strategies of future
educators. That the lesson planning design was effective to teacher students’ evaluation
system that would be able to meet.

My first demonstration was started at 7:30 in the morning and it ends 4:30 in the
afternoon. All teachers’ education students should be evaluated by the Practice Teaching
Instructress. The evaluations should be based on the lesson planning by attaining the
objectives and the importance of the delivery, pedagogy that we used on subject matter.
My demonstration is for Grade 8- Filipino.

Peer teaching is not also to evaluate, but to consider a multiple measures of the
performance, primarily the teachers’ impact on student’s academic growth. I realize how
peer teaching can play a major role in any comprehensive teacher education students. It is
critical that help future teachers for having a full and accurate realization of a teacher’s
strengths and development areas in a real classroom setting so Good luck to me, I hope
that I can do whatever it takes, I will do my best on this field so thank you PEER
TEACHING.

Areas of Strength

The Strength is the important on how teaching taught and no to be caught, the
strength was observed depends on the delivery and the clarity of the lesson objectives in
our Lesson Planning.

In terms of lesson strategies, activities, and our delivery during the lesson, we
must be activating first the student’s prior knowledge, the use of our strategies that are
appropriate for the lesson objectives.

For the use of our activities and learners work, we need to engage students to be
as active learner and for me this is the most important areas of strength we need to
develop as a future teacher soon.

As I notice during of our demonstration, 40% of education students annually for


having an accurate and good communication skill, the relevant of the content was
strongly evident for the key concepts of our understanding by considering this as our
strength.

Another one that I consider as the area of my strength was the acquisition of
resources “I.M” that needed for the lesson. The classroom routines and organization was
also a strength that we can used to organize my planned as teacher to students and
students to students interaction and collaboration.

Areas of Growth

I think one of the most important areas growth in teaching was the appropriate
accommodations for special needs of students by implementing the proper classroom
rules, expectations and somehow the procedures itself.

As a future teacher I can see that the growth of the students was processed by
maintaining students discipline, behaviour, and the engagement of our students by
performing well and listening on how to do a task given at a time.

Teacher as a students and students a teacher, modelling of honesty off course that
was the teacher, but in term of learning and growth students the one can be for having an
integrity and personal responsibility liked on how we gave importance on school Vision
and Mission that’s what I called the learning areas or the areas of my growth as a future
teacher and a the growth of my future learners.

Action Plan (Recommendation)

First of all, we all knew that expectation reflects excellent performance, but we
can do that if we still enhance and develop of our lesson planning. I thought it cannot be
easy because there’s no perfect planning but there’s a better performing, if we can think
something more different.

In my past demonstration I realized that I need to improve how to plan activities


that I can use on some improvements.

Challenges Encountered

Preparing, planning, speaking, and becoming a teacher is the most challenges that
I encountered. I realize that Free Service Teaching is a privilege to me to enhance,
developed, and to commit myself to make challenges to be easier but memorable.

Other challenges that I encountered during or before my demonstration is how I


delivered a well planed and how efficient my lesson could be? But first and foremost, a
challenge that I encountered was the academic progress of the students.

Insights learned

As a future teacher, giving demands on how I can focus on a long time of lesson
proper can be. The clear performance expectation, I learned also to be mindful of creating
my Instructional Material that I used on teaching, that are easy to use and digest by the
students like me and as a future teacher to be.

I learned also the elements of effective teaching, a teacher that can actually be
observed at me.

Second Demonstration Teaching

May 30, 2018 at exactly 1:30 in the afternoon was my second demonstration. The
demonstration is required for my major which is Filipino. My topic is all about “Ang apat
na buwan ko sa Espanya” and my grammar is “Ang pagbibigay ng pansariling
pananaw” and the said demonstration is for Grade-10 students.

My second demonstration was executed and evaluated by Ma’am Joemelyn B.


Sapitan, my adviser at Fil-225 Pagtataya sa Pagbabasa at Pakikinig. After my demo
teaching, my classmates gave their comments and Ma’am Joem’s would be the last.

The language in the vast majority of the expectations is clear, concrete and
specific such that different observes would likely interpret it similarly. The command of
the language minimizes the need for inference on the part of observers, my co-majors and
my adviser too.

My performances according to my first and second demonstration was actually


equal, the one that I need to improved is the writing on the board but then my adviser said
that “Ipagpatuloy ang mahusay na pagtuturo”.
