Transportation undustry

Nearly every company, business, government and consumer in the world is, to some degree, dependent
on the transportation undustry. As such, the shipping of supplies, products and consumer goods is
essential to the domestic and international economic system.

The transportation industry can be broken down into 3 major groups of companies: shipping, passenger
transport, and equipment manufactures. In some cases, particularly within shipping and passenger
transport, companies provide services in multiple areas of the industry. Shipping compaies are
responsible for the transportation of supplies and products to businesses, gobernments and individual
consumers and operate on a global basis. The passenger transport segment provides people with the
means to get anywhere on the planet, whether it is by air, sea or land. Finally, the manufacturing
segment produces the trucks, planes, ships and railcars along with all the technology that allow
transportation to exist in its current form. Theses manufactures are just essential to the transportataion
of materials and people as are the companies that transport them.

The first form of transporation was shanks pony ( human foot!). However people eventually learned to
use animals for transport. Donkeys and horses were probably domesticated between 4000 and 3000 BC.
Camels were domesticated slightly laterr between 3000 and 2000 BC.

During 3500 BC, the fixed wheel on carts were invented which were the first wheeled vehicles in the
history of transportation. In 1962, Blaise pascal invented the first public bus (horse-drawn), regular
route, schedule, fare system. In 1973, Nicolas joseph cugnot invented the self propelled road vehicle and
in 1970, modern vehicles were invented. In 1801, Richard Trevithick which are design for roads, and in
1867, Sylvester Howard Roper invented a 2 cylinder, steam powered velocipede. This can be considered
the first motorcycle. And in 1885, Karl Friedrich Benz build the world’s first practical automobile
powered by an internal combustion engine. In 1908 he was responsible for transforming the automobile
from an invention of unknown utility into an innovation that profoundly shaped the 20th century and
continues to affect our lives today.

Publicc Utilities

A public utility is a business that furnishes an everyday necessity to the public at large. Public utilities
provide water, electricity, natural gas, telephone services and other essentials. Utilitis may be publicly or
privately owned, but most are operated as private businesses. Public utility vehicles play a vital role in
todays economy. With this, many vehicles are now registered as a public utlity vehicles to cover the
need for transportation and also to earn a living. In order to meet the need for transportation there are
different mode of public transportation that can be used to travel to their own destination. These
different modes of transportation have been improved for safety and convenience purposes for
commuting public. In the PH, the following are some public utility vehicles which are used for
