The City has grown to its boundary in several locations in recent years. In order to facilitate continued growth in
the City of Cranbrook, staff have completed a proposed boundary extension area. In addition, a number of
property holders a the City’s current boundary have requested to be brought into the City in different areas for
the purpose of subdivision and development.
Proposed area:
The proposed boundary extension would include the following new areas within the City of Cranbrook
boundary:
• Gold Creek
• Jim Smith
• City owned lands around the Philip’s reservoir
• King Street
• New Lake
• West Hill
• Northern Area
The initial boundary extension proposal includes 1,738 properties with an area of 8,167ha which would
increase the City to 11,329ha. This area contains approximately 320km of roads which includes unconstructed,
graveled and surfaced.
