Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.
Prior to the SRT activity I will ask my students, “When you think of famous Americans that impacted our
history who comes to mind?” On an anchor chart we will list famous Americans. I will instruct my students
to log onto their tablet. I will guide my students through any technological issues. I will then introduce the
SRT activity. As a class, we will work through the SRT activity.

The teacher will read the questions and answers aloud to students. Students will be given ample amount of
time to select an answer. As students hold up their answers, the teacher will scan their cards.

The data that is collected will be used to clear up any misconceptions students have. I will use the data I
receive to help students move forward and help them meet the standards before summative assessments.

Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.


From this activity, I hope to learn where my students are and any misconceptions they have. I will use that
information to adjust future lessons. I hope it will help my students prepare for summative assessments.

Reflective Practice:
To further extend this lesson, Students will pair up and select one famous American to present to the class.
Students will be given time to research and gather information about their assigned individual.
