Cut out and color crab. Tape or glue to a long paint stick. Hold up as you say
the rhyme. Together with the children, lift up a corresponding number of your
fingers on your other hand as you read the numbers in the rhyme.

Five red Crabs


FIVE red crabs walked sideways down the shore.
One fell behind and then there were FOUR.
FOUR red crabs watched the waves of the sea. Walk Like Crabs:
One floated off and then there were THREE. 1. Sit down on the floor.
2. Stretch your arms behind you.
THREE red crabs played peek–a–boo.
Place hands on the floor.
One dug a hole and then there were TWO.
3. Lean back on your hands

Supplies Needed: colored pencils, scissors, tape


or glue, assorted yarn or ribbon, a coat hanger The Lord Is My Creator

for each child

1. Color the figures in the boxes (pg 79).


Color oval sign (above).
2. Cut out the rectangle figures on the SOLID lines.
3. Fold the images in the rectangles with DOTTED lines.
4. Tape or glue 6” of ribbon in the fold of the double images.
Tape the folded images back to back.
5. Use yarn or ribbon to attach images to a coat hanger at different lengths.
6. Hang the oval sign “The Lord Is My Creator” in the middle of the hanger
as seen on the illustration above.
