Project description (150 - 500 words, incl. E.g. Sutter Medical Center Castro Valley (SMCCV) is an innovative 130-bed replacement hospital currently under construction
special challenges and success of the project) Completion is scheduled for June 2012. The estimated maximum price set for this project is $320 million. This seven-story
approximate scope? building is a composite steel and concrete framed structure. The structural design of this building is considerably more comple
than usual due to the new seismic requirements set forth in California's legislation. This fast track project is scheduled to be
delivered 30% faster than comparable healthcare projects in California. This schedule would not be possible without the use o
BIM technologies and the innovative 11-party IPD (lntegrated Project Delivery) team. This team has been working together
since 2008 to build a completely coordinated and constructable model that will eventually get passed onto the owner for
facilities management use. Entire effort in exterior skin modeling from vendor shop drawings (2D) was to communicate the
design in a 3D environment to convey issues back to the 2D detailers.

Special challenges

What made the project succesful?

Material provided for the competition The .db1 and profile database file of the Tekla model (model folder)
Full Tekla BIMsight model (.tbp) including bolts, reinforcement and reference files
Snapshots of the model (min. 3 image files e.g. JPG featuring the whole model and relevant details)
We also recommend you to highlight the best parts of your project by saving them as snapshots in the Tekla BIMsight project.)
Sample drawings of the projects (2-3 PDF files)
Project information filled in to given XLS form
Photographs (min .1 image file) or artist's impressions of the project

Note, IF you have done any system modifications please submit also:

*profile database (profdb.bin)

*material database (matdb.bin)
*bolt database (screwdb.db)
*bolt assembly database (assdb.db)
*rebar database (rebar_database.inp)
*parametric profiles (profitab.inp)
