CaLabo EX creates a better language learning environment for the "Digital Native" generation.

Gakushuin Women's University

Tokyo, Japan

"Our students are now part of the "Digital Native" generation and are
really used to computer and Internet communication. Those students
can never be satisfied with traditional paper-based and teacher-
centered teaching methods. So, it is extremely important to think of
other teaching methods to match the digital lifestyle and demands.
CaLabo and CHIeru's technology gives us a chance to be prepared
for new digital teaching applications and learning environments for
our new students."

Tadayoshi Kaya, Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics,

Gakushuin Women's University

27
CaLabo EX is utilized in seven language courses and increases student motivation for learning.

Tenri University
Tenri city, Nara, Japan

"I really recognized that students have more interest in

learning about Germany and German culture by using digital
resources.
Arousing student motivation to learn is an important task for
teachers. CaLabo EX brought us a great solution for that."

Satoshi Morimoto, Associate Professor,

International Culture Studies Center for Language
Education and Research

28
CaLabo EX is installed in over 30 digital language labs campus wide.
It makes language learning courses more interactive than ever.

Aoyama Gakuin University

Tokyo, Japan

"Before CaLabo EX was installed, my lesson was teacher centered.

I showed prepared video content and had question & answer
sessions or discussions about the movie. With CaLabo EX, my
lessons transformed into student centered and task based. Not only
can I use some authentic materials from YouTube or from various
Podcasts, students can also search for those types of content by
themselves to work on their tasks. This is a huge change. My class
is really interactive now."

Joseph Dias, Associate Professor,

English Literature Department

CaLabo EX cuts maintenance and support costs and increases teacher and student productivity.
Sophia University
Tokyo, Japan

"We had been planning on rebuilding our language teaching

environment from the old tape / book based system to a digital
system for quite a long time. We finally decided to transform all of
our materials and teaching methods in 2008 with CHIeru's great
help and support. Now we are teaching in s 100% digital
environment. Teachers and students can access lesson content
from anywhere and at anytime."
