During a normal maintenance I decided to change a bad car

button PSB 12 volt bulb . I unscrewed the car station and

carefully tried to swing the door open. The hinge flew off and
wiring disconnected from the car button modules. What a mess.
Thank goodness I had the sense to pull the main line.
All the wiring was antiquated ,rotted ,grimy ,unmarked and well,
let the pictures speak for themselves.I could have been
electrocuted. I put everything back together and buttoned up the
station. I reported this to my boss and advised to contact the
owners for upgrade. If I had not swung the car station door
opend carefully the damage would have been much worse or
even deadly.

Take your time when working around car stations.

Always pull the main line switch prior to working.
Expect the unexpected.
Don't force panels fully opened.
They may not give and you'll be damaging wiring.
Check and secure all connections.
Button everything backup and take it for a test run pressing
all buttons confirming all is in order.
