Ovarian Rejuvenation - A brighter side towards all lost hopes.

Introduction
Ovarian rejuvenation is like a ray of hope for women who have witnessed early menopause. Ovarian
rejuvenation brings an opportunity to turn back the fertility clock for such women all with the help of
the dynamic PRP treatments.

Stem Cells under a proper biological influence has the ability to transform itself into any type of cell in
the human body including eggs. Researchers have conducted studies in mice and laid proven records
that exhibit the presence of Stem Cells in the ovaries and their transformation into mature oocytes (egg
cells).During studies, the presence of stem cells have also been shown in the ovary which makes us
zoom into the possibility of transforming them into eggs under the influence of growth factors that are
present in individuals’ own WBC’s (white blood cells) and Platelets which are injected into the ovary.

Injections of Growth Factors, when used for various other types of medical treatments, they are made
using a patient’s own blood and blood cells and is known as PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) or PDGF (Platelet
Derived Growth Factors)Therapy.

What are growth factors, what is their mode of action and can we consider
using them safe?
Growth Factors are natural substances that are produced by blood cells such as the WBC’s and the
platelets, when the body is injured, in order to initiate natural healing of the damaged body’s tissues.
Remember during early childhood days, “bruising” your elbow and seeing a thick yellow substance
appearing gradually over the wounded area? This thick yellow substance was none other than the
combination of platelets , white blood cells and growth factors that initiates natural healing by forming a
clot, stopping bleeding, preventing infection, and eventually leading in the formation of a new skin,
along with new blood vessels, connective tissues and nerves to replace those which were lost as a result
of the injury.

PRP injections have been used clinically for several years by physicians to carry out the treatment for
soft and connective tissue injuries, as well as during bone grafts.

Many professional athletes use this therapy to elevate quick healing of their sports related injuries. PRP
has even shown beneficial results in the treatment of burns and is is also used during non-surgical
facelifts.

But Since, there are two sides to every coin there are certain research studies that confirm as well as
deny the effectiveness of PRP therapy in its many and varied medical uses. Irrespective of all the
criticism, one thing about PRP therapy that has not been challenged is its safety. The belief of PRP being
a safe, non surgical treatment still remains intact- The reason being that it’s made from a person’s own
blood. Thus, cutting down on the chances of transmission of blood borne viruses such as Hepatitis or
HIV, which have been reported with the use of products made from the blood of other individuals.
Moreover, since there are no synthetic chemicals used or involved while carrying out the therapy and
platelet rich plasma is prepared using the patients’ own blood products; the possibility of an allergic
reaction is extremely unlikely.

How is the ovarian rejuvenation procedure performed?

Ovarian rejuvenation is a two step

procedure

Resulting in natural conceptions –

pregnancies after the PRP treatment is
completely done.

During the first step your PRP is

prepared - This is done by inserting a
needle into your vein in order to obtain
a certain amount blood from your
body. Once the required amount of
blood is obtained it is followed by
Centrifugation during which the white
blood cells and platelets are separated from the red blood cells and the serum. This entire procedure is
performed in less than an hour.

The second step of ovarian rejuvenation involves injecting the PRP into the ovaries.
The most significant difference in our study and the technique described in the referenced case study is
that we use a non-surgical approach while injecting the PRP into the ovaries. The process of injecting the
PRP is guided under transvaginal ultrasound and is performed under sedation with an anesthetic agent
called Propofol.

What are the potential risks and benefits of the procedure?

The biggest advantage of this procedure is the possibility of achieving pregnancy with one’s own eggs,
which wasn’t possible prior to this procedure. Since this is an innovative medical treatment, it must be
understood that there is no confirmation, stated or implied, that pregnancy, either naturally, or as a
result of any subsequent fertility procedure, will occur. This treatment is all about exploring the
unexplored and giving a chance to every opportunity that knocks one’s door so that there’s no room for
regrets.

The risks involved with this procedure are minimal, and are basically somewhat same as those for an egg
retrieval procedure, which is part of the In Vitro Fertilization process. The possible side effects include a
slight pain after the completion of the procedure, which tends to settle in about 1 to 2 hours with the
action of pain medication, fever or internal bleeding are a few other side effects that might occur. .

Although extensive complications are rare, but they may possibly result in hospitalization.

Who are candidates for this procedure?

A woman who is in appropriate physical health and falls under one or more, of the four mentioned
categories, is liable of undergoing the treatment :

1. Menopausal or perimenopausal women under the age of 50 years.

2. Infertile women, over the age of 35 years, who have low egg reserve and low AntiMullerian
Hormone levels.
3. Women under the age of 35 years, who have low egg reserve and low AntiMullerian Hormone
levels.
4. Women with premature ovarian failure (POF).

How is the ovarian regeneration procedure performed?

For performing ovarian regeneration- there’s a set of women before us- who’s bodies act differently and
thus the procedure of the treatment tends to vary.

Beginning with the women who do not get periods, in such cases the procedure can be performed at
any time. Perhaps In women who do get periods, be it regularly or irregularly, the procedure is best
performed during the menstrual period or during the early phase of the cycle, i.e. prior to the
development of an egg follicle. The procedure can be performed as early as the day of the initial
evaluation.
In order to witness if the procedure has done it’s work and regenerated new eggs in the treated
woman’s ovaries, AMH (antiMullerian hormone), FSH (Follicle stimulating hormone), LH (Leutenizing
hormone) and Estradiol levels are measured at monthly intervals in women who do not menstruate, and
during the menstrual flow in menstruating women for a period of six months. If the AMH levels rise,
while the FSH,LH, and estradiol levels become lower, objective evidence of ovarian rejuvenation is
demonstrated. Even if ovarian rejuvenation is observed, pregnancy may not necessarily occur, since
there may be other factors that could interfere with natural conception.

The researchers need to do some more work to make sure that the resulting eggs are okay.

PRP has also shown a positive effect in cases where women seek fertility treatment for a uterus to which
embryos find difficulty to attach to – reason being presence of cysts, scarring from miscarriages or a thin
uterine lining. In order to ensure proper observation of results randomised trials must be carried out for
further investigation. Ovarian Rejuvenation is a therapeutic blessing for women who undergo timeless
infertility. The treatment doesn’t use any foreign blood products but it uses’s the patient’s own blood
cells, so there are no foreign blood products or synthetic drugs injected, thus there are no chances for
any sort of allergic reaction or other side effects.

Results & Testimonials as per the studies conducted till July ‘2018

The use of PRP for the rejuvenation of ovarian function is now routinely performed at StemGenn
Therapeutics with a great patient feedback and a high success rate.

The positive results so far have motivated us to offer PRP injections for other indications as well
including: vaginal atrophy, gynecological aesthetic treatment, to the vagina and labia as well as some
types of urinary incontinence. It appears PRP regenerates healthy vaginal tissue and is turning out to be
the key to hinder all these problems.
