REMARKABLE THROUGHPUT
Environmentally hardened, the 8609 Smart Router offers 12 fixed Gigabit Ethernet
ports and two slots for interface modules providing throughput up to 7.5 Gbps and 5.5
Gbps with Simple IMIX packet size distribution. This makes the 8609 Smart Router
optimal for cell and aggregation sites.
ROBUST SYNCHRONIZATION
The 8609 Smart Router supports a high quality Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillator
(OCXO), which provides excellent temperature stability for IEEE 1588v2 and adaptive
timing recovery. It also provides a highly stable node clock holdover. In addition to
adaptive timing and IEEE 1588v2 clock recovery mechanisms, node timing can be
obtained from a BITS or GPS source, any PDH, SONET/SDH interface, or any of the
synchronous Ethernet interfaces. The 8609 Smart Router supports the transition
from TDM to packet synchronization in a controlled way by verifying the packet
synchronization performance with professional tools.
Eliminating the need for separate E1/T1s used only for synchronization at every cell
site, the Coriant 8609 Smart Router solution provides a cost-optimized solution
which is independent from the legacy network. The 8609 Smart Router also supports
IEEE1588v2 Boundary Clock for phase synchronization which is required for LTE

DATASHEET
In both operational modes, the 7090-05 CE and 7090-07 CE conform to the latest
carrier-class Ethernet OAM standards – 802.3ah Link OAM proactively monitors the
network provider’s fiber access and customer-facing links for physical failures and
deterioration of data quality and 802.1ag Service OAM provides end-to-end
Connectivity Fault Management (CFM) and performance monitoring. These OAM
features provide efficient detection and rapid isolation of potential service problems
to provide Service Level Agreement (SLA) assurance while reducing Operational
Expenditures (OPEX).
FLEXIBLE CONFIGURATIONS FOR NUMEROUS APPLICATIONS AND ENVIRONMENTS
The Coriant 7090-05 CE and 7090-07 CE fiber ports can support Gigabit (1000 Base-X) or Fast Ethernet (100 Base-FX) fiber access links by
utilizing an SFP transceiver with the desired data rate. The triple-speed copper interface operates at 10/100/1000 Mbps rates. The Coriant
7090-05 CE may be used in two-port or three-port configurations. In the three-port configuration, the Coriant 7090-05 CE can be used in
geographically diverse uplink redundancy applications and multi-tenant applications. The five-port Coriant 7090-07 CE can support
redundancy to the CPE as well as geographically diverse redundant network connectivity. Both the 7090-05 CE and 7090-07 CE support
options for temperature hardened versions. This capability enables deployments into a wider variety of environments to extend the benefits
of Carrier Ethernet functionality to more places in the network.
The 7090-05 CE supports an option for E1/T1 circuit emulation. Circuit Emulation Services (CES) allow the transport of synchronous services
such as E1/T1 over Ethernet networks (often labeled CESoE). CESoE capabilities facilitate migration of applications such as TDM voice and
legacy private line services that may be extended over the service provider’s network at lower cost than is currently available in a Layer
3 solution. E1/T1 fault management includes typical PDH metrics including: LOS (Loss of Signal), AIS (Alarm Indication Signal), RDI (Remote
Defect Indication), and E1/T1 PM.
The 7090-07 CE supports an option for Power over Ethernet (PoE). This capability provides the option for the 7090-07 CE to provide power
to subtended devices. This capability can greatly simplify powering configurations for facilities and improve network reliability during power
failure scenarios. The 7090-07 CE can support 3 or 4 PoE interfaces per device and supports a high power option device to provide up to
60W on each RJ45 interface. The 7090-07 CE adheres to the following PoE standards: 802.3af (15.4W), 802.3at (25.5W).

The 7090-25 CE is a 24G Ethernet switch in a small 1RU shelf that supports the latest carrier-class requirements for Ethernet networking.
This product is an optimal solution for aggregation offices in which you want to significantly increase the bandwidth in your network at
competitive price points, while also leveraging the carrier-class design for operational efficiency and network reliability. Extensive traffic
management and Quality of Service (QoS) features support sophisticated services. Classification of traffic is supported with a range of Layer
2 and Layer 3 options including port, Media Access Control (MAC) address, Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) ID and Differentiated Services
Code Point (DSCP). Dual rate policing with tri-color marking enforces conformance to a service contract and is a means to manage traffic
allocation in the network. Class-based queuing with strict priority and deficit-weighted round robin scheduling options also help enable you
to provide the appropriate fairness algorithms for provided services.
Carrier-class OAM capabilities comply with the latest industry OAM standards. The 7090-25 CE switch supports 802.3ah link layer
OAM, 802.1ag Ethernet connectivity fault management and ITU-T Y.1731 end-to-end OAM. These capabilities provide rapid notification
of network faults while offering a reporting mechanism to help ensure that Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are being met. Network
resiliency is supported via Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP) and Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP); link resiliency is supported
with link aggregation (LAG), and VLAN protection is compliant to ITU-T G.8031. The 7090-25 CE supports network scalability. With its large
switch fabric, the high-density nature of the 7090-25 CE will support present and future bandwidth demands in network aggregation and
distribution layers. Sophisticated traffic management and QoS capabilities support a multitude of services – mobile backhaul, xDigital
Subscriber Line (xDSL), Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Internet Protocol Television (IPTV), etc. – that exist in service provider networks
and help ensure that each service is given the required priority for a high-quality, reliable end-user experience.

FLEXIBILITY
The mTera™ UTP is designed with the ultimate in flexible architecture. The system supports
any card in any slot – including service modules and optical layer (ROADM) modules on the
same shelf. The mTera™ UTP supports a fully hybrid switching architecture enabling native
packet and OTN switching on every interface on every module with unrestricted service
interworking between the protocols.
SIMPLICITY
As with all Coriant transport solutions, the mTera™ UTP is designed with an extremely
simplified architecture that requires only a small number of interface cards to support a
variety of applications. The optical layer has also been simplified via highly integrated
ROADM modules that provide complete ROADM degrees (including amplifiers, WSS, and
optical monitoring) on a single one-slot card. This approach simplifies ordering, sparing, and
deployment resulting in faster and less complex roll-outs while minimizing errors.
SCALABILITY
The mTera™ UTP provides an extremely compact and dense solution with an all-pluggable
interface design for both 10G and 100G interfaces. The result is an extremely dense 7 terabits
of switching capacity in ½ a rack. With two shelves supported per rack, this equates to 14T of
total switching capacity in a single rack.
