What are some of the positives, which would encourage

someone to join Banks?
This job enhances one’s personality and broadens her horizon, as one has to multi-task
almost every minute.
One gets to meet and build relations with all kinds of people in your area, which helps in
your social life.
I also feel privileged to implement several Govt. policies such as demonetization, which the
country faced 2 years ago.
Many a time, we may get transferred to different parts of the country getting a chance to
travel.

What are some of the negatives that you would want someone to
be aware of when considering a career in Banking?
Thinking of negatives, the first thing that comes to my mind is the risk factor. As it is all
about money and business, there is always an operational risk, frauds, thefts, dacoity etc.
Also, the selection of borrowers is very important for lending, because if we lend money to
people or company, who don’t return the money, then we are to take the blame of not doing
due diligence.
Sometimes bankers can get trapped by the local goons resulting in some unwanted
situations.
Work pressure disturbs personal life balance.
Also, a transfer can detach you from your family disturbing the family life.

My Family is Neutral

General Information of your Profession/Business

It Doesn’t Matter
What is the ease of starting own business in this field?
Very Difficult, because opening a Bank requires you to seek a License from Government,
which is very difficult unless you are part of a large business house.
How easy is it to move to a different country in this profession?
Maybe Easy for Few
Now you have several years of work experience and you have seen professions of
others. If you are taken back to 10th/12th class and allowed to pick a profession, then
which profession will you pick and why?
I would have taken Central Govt job for better remuneration, lesser job risk and no
long-working hours.
