1. Introduction
This document is the manual for the official Swiss International Hotels & Resorts’ website and the
minimum requirements for each hotel website.
All Swiss International Hotels & Resorts official website are created and remain on the domain
www.swissinternationalhotels.com
The standard hotels website URL is the domain followed by forward slash, hotel name dash city.
E.g. www.swissinternationalhotels.com/mabisel-portharcourt
The URL is chosen and created for each hotel by the International Services Center.
2. Website Management

All content displayed on the hotel’s website has to include keywords which are relevant to the website
so that searchers will be able get to the page they are looking for.. For instance for a business hotel in
Tokyo, the content on the landing page has to include business, hotel, Tokyo, Japan, rooms, etc…

3. Overview Standards
The hotel website contains different kinds of content, imagery, texts, logos, & links. All are updated by
the International Services Center. In the screen shot below, the set-up of the homepage is explained
in more detail.

3.1 Rotating/ Slider Images
These images are at the top of each web page of the hotel’s website.
A total of 10 images in high resolution (1054 X 400 pixels) are required on each web page. The
images have to be clear and relevant to the topic on the page.
Clear and relevant images, in high resolution are to be sent to the International Services Center team
for implementation.
The location map is configured and implemented by the International Services Center. Any changes/
amendments have to be communicated to the International Services Center team.

3.3 Hotel Chain Menu
The Hotel Chain Menu is located at the top of each web page of Swiss International & Resorts. No
changes are required here.
All Swiss International Hotels & Resorts hotel websites have the same menu items.
1. Hotel: Is the homepage and the landing page if an external website refers is linked with the
hotel’s website.
2. Rooms: Is the webpage with content & imagery of the hotel rooms.
3. Restaurants: Is the webpage with content & imagery of the Food & Beverage outlets.
4. Meetings & Events: Is the webpage detailing the events facilities, including prices.
7. Destination: Shares content and imagery of the destination, its points of interest and what/
where to visit.
8. Reviews: Displays Customer reviews from Trip Advisor and the hotel’s ranking. There is also
a link to the Hotelscombined website on this page which is an agreement with Swiss
International Hotels & Resorts.
All the webpages consistently display the SWISS-FLEX Booking Engine, the hotel’s logo,
address, telephone/ fax numbers, GDS codes, Email & Factsheet link.

3.4.1 Hotel’s Page: (also known as the Homepage):
This is the landing page of the hotel’s website. It displays the location map, a brief description of the
hotel and the location. Major points of interest and airports relevant to the customers have to be
displayed here.
A weather widget for the city where the hotel is located is always displayed on this page. The
weather widget is predefined by the International Services Center. The hotels are not allowed to use
a different widget.
It is required that the rotating/ slider images on the Hotel’s page, will feature a collection of 10
images covering the below aspects of the hotel:
i. Exterior view
ii. Restaurants
iii. Bars
iv. Suites, rooms (all room types)
v. Amenities (pool, gym, etc.)
vi. Lobby
vii. Garden if available
viii. View from the rooms/ suites
ix. The destination
The rotating/ slider images have to be 1054 X 400 pixels, clear and in the highest resolution.
The content has to include keywords which are relevant for the website so that searchers will be able
get to the page they are looking for.. For instance for a business hotel in Tokyo, the content on the
landing page has to include the words: Swiss International, business, corporate, hotel, Tokyo, Japan,
rooms, etc…
All the webpages consistently display the SWISS-FLEX Booking Engine, the hotel’s logo,
address, telephone/ fax numbers, GDS codes, Email & Factsheet link.

3.4.2 Rooms’ Page:
The Rooms’ page displays content & images of the rooms & suites
available at the hotel. Each room type’s content briefly showcases
the size, design, amenities and facilities of the specific room type a
maximum of 30 words is required for each room type.
Each room type’s content is unique and has to clearly depict the
difference from other room types.
For each room type a unique image is featured and show cases the
room types unique selling points.
The content has to include keywords which are relevant for the website
so that searchers will be able get to the page they are looking for.
For instance for a business hotel in Tokyo, the content on the Rooms
page has to include the words: rooms, suites, stay, night, accommodation,
business, etc…

Restaurants page has to include the words: Swiss Cafe, Lounge, bar,
restaurant, meals, dinner, breakfast, pool bar, etc…

3.4.4 Meetings & Events Page:
The Meetings & Events’ page displays content & images of meeting,
conference and baqueting facilities available at the hotel.
Each venue’s content briefly showcases the space, its design and
facilities. A maximum of 30 words is required for each outlet.
A rate sheet is also required for each hotel (form can be obtained
from the International Services Center).
The content has to include keywords which are relevant for the
website so that searchers will be able get to the page they are
looking for. For instance for a hotel in Tokyo, the content on the
Meetings & Events page has to include the words: Tokyo,meetings,
events, banquets, groups, functions, weddings, conference, etc…

3.4.6. Promotions’ Page:
The content has to include keywords which are relevant for the website so that searchers will be able
get to the page they are looking for. For instance for a hotel in Tokyo, the content on the Promotions
page has to include the words: promotion, special, offer, flyer, etc…
All the webpages consistently display the SWISS-FLEX Booking Engine, the hotel’s logo,
address, telephone/ fax numbers, GDS codes, Email & Factsheet link.
The content has to include keywords which are relevant for the
website so that searchers will be able get to the page they are
looking for For instance for a hotel in Tokyo, the content on the
Destinations page has to include the words: destination, visit,
outing, city, etc…

3.4.8 Reviews Page:
4. The SideBar
The sidebar is always located on the left of the webpages anddisplays the:
i. BOOK NOW button with Modify Reservation link (All Swiss International
Hotels & Resorts recognizes only SWISS-FLEX as their online booking
engine. Only SWISS-FLEX will be implemented for booking purposes on
the hotel’s web pages. See the Distribution Manual for more information)
ii. Hotel’s logo: 220 X 47 pixels
iii. Address: The order is Street address, followed by ZIP code (where applicable),
city, and Country
iv. Telephone number: Always entered in the format: +234 806 7649760
v. Fax number: Always entered in the format: +234 806 7649760
vi. Email address: Entered as “Email” button and linked to “mailto” + email
address (all email addresses are hosted on the Swiss International domain
@swissinternationalhotels.com)
vii. Fact sheet: The URL is linked to high the resolution Fact sheet (all Fact sheets
viii. has to be approved by the International Services Center)
ix. GDS codes: All four GDS codes of the hotel.

5. Keywords, Page Title/ Tags:
These are back end fields that allow the hotel website to get good ranking during a search for certain
keywords. It is very, very important that as stated in the previous sections, relevant keywords for each
pages are included in the text.
The International Services Center will in turn configure the Page title, implement the keywords and add
the tags where relevant.
Each hotel will ensure that keywords relevant to their hotel and pages are included in the content of the
website.
6. RULES:
i. All Swiss International Hotels & Resorts recognize only the website on the Swiss International
domain (www.swissinternationalhotels.com) as their hotel website.
ii. The Sales & Marketing Manager/ Executive has to review the hotel website at least once a month.
iii. Each of the hotel’s web pages has a rotating slide at the top of the page. The hotel has to ensure
that 10 images, relevant to the topic of the page, are displayed for each page.
iv. Room images: Images are required for all room types. Make sure that images show clearly the
difference between the room types.
v. The hotel is responsible to ensure that up to date information is available on their website.
vi. All Swiss International Hotels & Resorts recognize only SWISS-FLEX as their online booking engine.
Only SWISS-FLEX will be implemented for booking purposes on the hotel’s web pages. See the
Distribution Manual for more information.
vii. The font used is always Century Gothic for the Swiss International Hotels & Resorts websites.
viii. All hotels are required to have an English, French, Italian & German version of their website. The
hotel is responsible to ensure that the content of their website is translated into relevant languages
for the hotel.
ix. NO information, links or URLs are to make reference to any third party website and or email
addresses. Any references of these have to be agreed to with the International Services Center
team.
x. A weather widget is predefined and implemented on each hotel’s website by the International
Services Center. The hotels are not allowed to use a different widget.
xi. The hotel and its team members have to strictly adhere to all terms & conditions as stated in this
manual.
