Context and the conflict situation

This part shall locate the reader to the conflict at hand. Instead of providing a ‘traditional’ narrative, the group shall utilize at least
two (2) conflict analysis tools (see this learning material for reference) in order to establish the conflict situation. A short
narrative explanation shall be provided thereafter to outline major ideas or key parts the tools would like to present.

Prospects for Conflict Resolution

The aim of this element is to detail the current approaches or options being pursued or to be pursued to address the conflict or
at least mitigate its impact (as elaborated in the PDP) – its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

Conflict Assessment

This component must be able to ascertain, as in the final analysis, whether the prospects for conflict resolution are high or
otherwise using country case studies that reveal similar experiences and the utilization of the different concepts, theories, or
approaches discussed in the course.

Policy recommendations

The aim of the policy recommendations element is to provide a detailed and convincing proposal of how the failings (or
limitations) of the current policy approach need to change. As such, this is achieved by including:

a. A breakdown of the specific practical steps or measures that need to be implemented.

b. Sometimes also includes a closing paragraph re-emphasizing the importance of action.

References

All materials utilized in the paper must be cited in this section.

2. Content must be authoritative and scholarly. Citations/references must be provided accordingly. The policy on academic
dishonesty and plagiarism shall govern any situation where the originality and integrity of the output are questioned.
