ASCO code references are those contained in McLennan, W, ASCO – Australian Standard Classification of Occupations, Second Edition, Australian
Bureau of Statistics, 1997. An occupation classification listed in ASCO (second edition) not referred to in the Schedule is not to be regarded as a skilled
occupation for the purposes of the definition of that term in regulation 1.03 of the Migration Regulations.
Skills Assessment (Engineering Professionals nec 2129-79)
Applicants who lodged a General Skilled application before 1 July 2010, and had a nominated occupation in ASCO (Engineering Professionals nec 2129-
79) can in certain instances request Engineers Australia for a letter that refers to their skills in a specific ANZSCO code. Please note this letter can only be
issued for certain occupations. For further information contact Engineers Australia.
