General Instructions for candidates for appearing in interview for enrolment

in Ph.D.:

i) Interview will start at 09.30 A.M. All candidates should

report in-time, at the respective venues (List given below), as per schedule.

ii) For interview, the candidates will be called in the

sequence as per the Serial Nos. in the list of qualified candidates or list of
candidates exempted from entrance test (lists are already available at PTU’s
website).

iii) Interview will be based on technical fundamental

aspects of respective core subjects and candidates may also discuss their
research interest/area with the interview board.

iv) Candidates, who have been exempted from entrance

test, on the basis of qualifying UGC-NET/GATE/SLET/JPET/CSIR Exam, will have to
produce original score card at the time of interview, for verification purpose and
will have to submit the self attested copy, failing which will lead to the rejection
of their claim for exemption from entrance test.

v) Candidates need not to bring the consent of any

supervisor / co-supervisor at the time of interview.

vi) As per Ph.D. regulations, the inter-se merit of the

candidates appeared in the interview will be made on the basis of following
criteria:
Weightage to marks in Post Graduation (in concerned field): 40%
Weightage to marks in Entrance Test / GATE(etc.) Score (in concerned field):
40%
Weightage to interview: 20%

vii) All original documents have to be produced at the time

of interview for verification purpose.

viii) Self attested copies of following documents are to be

arranged in the sequence:
a) UGC-NET/GATE/SLET/JPET/CSIR Exam Score Card (if
exempted from Entrance Test)
b) Post Graduation Degree.
c) All DMCs of Post Graduation Degree.
d) Graduation Degree.
e) All DMCs of Graduation Degree.
f) Matriculation Certificate.

ix) The Candidature of any candidate can be cancelled, if

any information provided in the application form proves to be incorrect at any
stage.

x) The list of eligible candidates for enrolment in Ph.D. will

be uploaded at PTU’s website (www.ptu.ac.in) on or before 01-09-2010.
