 Addition Fact Mental Strategy
Doubles Sample
These free samples, compiled from three of my best-selling addition resources, are for reinforcing the
doubles addition fact strategy. There is an anchor wall chart (in color or black/ gray/ white), 2
worksheets (3 pages) for identifying and sorting doubles addition equations, and flashcards with color or
black/ white picture cues.

Choose color or black/ gray/ white. Print the anchor chart and flashcards on cardstock and laminate for
durability. Cut the flashcards. Print the worksheets. The page with dog collars has two sets, with one set
needed for each student.

Below is a description of the three resources from which this free sample was compiled.

Addition Fact Mental Strategy Anchor Wall Charts

This is a set of 10 anchor wall charts (plus a title heading chart) to provide visual cues for the addition
fact mental strategies you are teaching. These classroom tested strategies and cues provide the visual
and verbal hooks that enable students to recall and apply them.

Addition Fact Mental Strategy Worksheets

These are a set of systematic, sequential worksheets to reinforce identifying, discriminating, and
applying mental strategies to add basic facts, using a classroom tested approach. These sets of addition
fact strategy worksheets are cumulative, based on students learning the previous strategies.

Addition Fact Strategy Flashcards

This is a set of basic addition fact flashcards to reinforce introduced mental addition strategies. They
correlate with my anchor charts and worksheets. Each flashcard has a think bubble with a picture and/or
word cue for the corresponding addition strategy.

This resource provides concrete and visual ways to introduce and practice the addition doubles facts to
sums of 20 for the benefit of students who may need more than a doubles rap or picture cues to develop
