Timing: Learning Experiences:

1. Introduction: (How will I engage the learners?)

Begin by introducing myself, my special interests in and out of school. Why I like to teach and why I
1 min like to do what I do outside of school. (modelling the type of response I want)

2. Sequence of learning experiences: (What will you do to help the students achieve the
learning objectives? What tasks and activities will the students be involved in to help

achieve the learning objectives?)

Ask students to think about their families and talk about it with their peer next to them;
2-4 mins
Where/who do they live with? Brothers, sisters, family pets? Students will then tell the

teacher about what they learnt about their partner

Ask students what their favourite subject is in school and what they enjoy about it.
2mins

Ask students what they do out side of school and why they like it/do it… sports and
2mins
hobbies…. Who does the same as one another?

3. Lesson conclusion: (How will you summarise the learning and relate it to the lesson
objectives?)

1-2 mins Conclude lesson focusing in commonalities rather than differences and why it is important to build
relationships.

Lesson Evaluation:
(Reflect on the lesson. Questions to Ask: What worked? What did not work? What would you change? Why?)

Overall, I think that the lesson went well. The students responded exactly how I expected them to which was
awesome.

The only things that could have run smoother were personal things. At times when I was wrapping the certain
question up I got a little bit stuck for words and felt like maybe my sentence didn’t make sense, so perhaps if I
came up with a few ‘go to’ phrases I could use to wrap up topics if I was at a loss for words.

As time went quickly there was not enough time to ask the students what they learnt about one another or what
their commonalities with their peers were so perhaps next time I could have asked less questions to allow for
more of a discussion at the end of the session.
