Eleven juniors at North Shore Senior High School did not pass the Biology State of Texas Assessment of Academic
Readiness Exam during the 2017 school year and are considered at risk for not graduating on schedule. 8 out of 11 of
these students are considered to be limited English proficient. Instruction and encouragement is needed for the
students to pass the Biology STAAR Exam.

Goal Clarification and Goal Analysis with Learning Outcomes

Instructional Goal: The goal is for the students to reach at least a 40% mastery of the biology learning standards to pass
the Biology State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness Exam.

Below are the five lowest scoring learning standards.
