CONSTRUCTION METHOD

OUTLINE OF NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION

1.0 INTRODUCTION

The name and location of the Project is Construction of 4-Storey, 8 Classroom School
Building at Mintal NCHS - Tugbok NHS, Tugbok District, Davao City.

2.0 BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF CONTRACT WORK

The scope of works under this contract is the following: PART I. - MOBILIZATION /

 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Permits and Licenses


1.0 Prepare approved plans and requirements for the building permits and
Payments

Mobilization/Demobilization
1.0 Mobilize tools and equipments such as bar cutter, bagger mixer, vibrator and any
construction materials needed in the projects.

Temporary Facility
1.0 Provide bunkhouse for stocked materials and warehouse man

Bonds & Insurance


1.0 Prepare bonds/insurances as per required and agreed

Temporary Water and Electricity


1.0 The contractor will secure water and electrical connections for consumptions.

Others
1.0 The contractor will provide as built plans as furnished copy of implementations.

CLEARING/GRUBBING WORKS

 Clearing and Hauling


 Clear the area as safe and sound from accidents
 Dispose waste

 EARTHWORKS

 Site Preparations (lay-out and staking)


 Check area as basis for actual to planned conformity.
 Establish lines and elevations.

 Excavations, Backfilling, Gravel Bedding and Compaction


 Excavate for footings
 Gravel bedding for footing prior to concrete pouring
 Backfill that is free from foreign materials such as debris, roots, etc.
 Compact filled materials

FORMS AND SCAFFOLDINGS WORKS

 Cut forms fitted into the required dimensions of the structural members of the
building.

 Apply ‘’used oil’’ or equivalent prior to pouring
 Scaffoldings must be properly in placed and strong enough to support the
Structural members to avoid accidents.

 CONCRETE WORKS

 POURING
 Before pouring, the correct dimensions and specifications of the structural
members such as beams and columns must be carried out according to
approved plans.
 Check spacers for concrete covers.
 Check formworks and scaffolding if properly in placed and must be strong
enough to support the structural members to avoid accidents.

 Must consider to concrete design mixture of the designer according to


approved plans.
 Monitor water ratio and use vibrator to avoid honeycomb.
 Secure concrete samples for testings.

 PLASTERING
 Must consider mixture of sand-cement ratio according to approved plans.
 Plastering mush be rough to smooth finishes.

 STEEL REINFORCEMENT WORKS

 Fabricate deformed bars according to approved plans.


 Fabricated bars must be rust-free and standard.
 The install bars to its designated places.

 MASONRY WORKS

 PILING
 CHB to be used must be according to approved plans
 Must consider the design mixture of the designer according to approved
plans in both setting and filling mix.
 Piling must be as much as possible vertically and horizontally aligned.

PLASTERING
 Must consider mixture of sand-cement ratio according to approved plans.
 Plastering mush be rough to smooth finishes.

 CEILING WORKS

 Prepare scaffoldings.
 Check elevations and area.
 Use good lumber for wood framing system.
 Attached fiber cement board with fastener (wood screw/nails).

 DOOR AND SCREEN WORKS

 Check dimensions and elevations of window and door openings.


 Install door jambs and window frames.
 Install door panel, window glass.
 Install door knobs.
 Apply sealer for window glasses.

 STEEL ROOF FRAMING & ROOFING WORKS

 ROOF FRAMING
 Fabricate trusses according to approved plans.
 Weld cee bar purlins on top of trusses.
 Apply epoxy primer red oxide.

 PAINTING ON TRUSSES
 Apply rust converter for corroded trusses.
 Remove rust and smoothen surfaces using sand papers.
 Apply epoxy primer red oxide.
 Smoothen surfaces using sand papers.
 Apply epoxy enamel white.
 Smoothen surfaces using sand papers.
 Apply body filler.
 Smoothen surfaces using sand papers.
 Apply first top coat.
 Apply final top coat.

 ROOFING WORKS
 Fasten hardi senepa (fascia board) for gutter attachment.
 Fasten roofing materials
 Fasten ridge roll
 Fasten gutters and flashing.

ELECTRICAL WORKS

 Check possible obstruction for the piping such as existing plumbing,


electrical fixtures/pipes, and metallic objects.
 Chip-Off walls for passage of conduits.
 Embed pipes, junctions & utility boxes and others.
 Insert Wires
 Wire test (if with electrical current)
 Install fixtures
 And other special features
 Fire Alarm System

SANITARY WORKS

 Check possible obstruction for the piping such as existing plumbing,


fixtures/pipes, and metallic objects.
 Chip-Off walls for passage to Catch Basins & Septic Vault

 PAINTING WORKS

 PAINTING ON WALLS AND CEILING


 Smoothen surfaces using sand papers.
 Apply primer paint.
 Apply polytuff body filler/concrete putty as sealer for uneven surfaces.
 Smoothen surfaces using sand papers.
 Apply primer paint.
 Apply cast.
 Smoothen surfaces using sand papers.
 Apply primer paint
 Apply first top coat.
 Apply final top coat.

DEMOBILIZATION

 Demobilize all its equipment and exist materials together with the manpower
 Final Inspection.

The monthly projected expenditures are based on the item of wok to be undertaken that
include all direct and indirect cost of the project.
