You are going to see images of five cities and their landmarks. Write a
paragraph describing each city and country it belongs and the landmark shown.
Use the vocabulary from the box for the descriptions. The first one is done for
you as an example. / A continuación verá imágenes de cinco ciudades y sus
lugares representativos. Escriba un párrafo describiendo cada ciudad, el país al

New York is a big city in the


United States (North
America). It takes thousand of
visitors every year. The city
has a population of around 8
million people. There is a lot
to see and do in New York.
You can visit the Central Park,
the Metropolian museum and
Time’s Square. In the picture
you can see the Statue of
Liberty, a monumet built
between 1875 and 1986. It is
93 meters tall. The statue is
New York (USA) – The Statue of Liberty
located on Liberty Island in
the Hudson River.
Rome is the capital city of Italy,
Rome also serves as the capital
of the Lazio region. The city has
a population of 2.872.800.
There’s a lot of places to visit
like Colosseum, the Roman
Forum, Pantheon.
In the picture you can see the
Saint Peter’s Square that is large
plaza located is a large plaza
located directly in front of St.
Peter's Basilica in the Vatican
City, At the centre of the square
is an ancient Egyptian obelisk,
Rome (Italy) – Saint Peter’s Square erected at the current site in
1586.
Sydney is the capital state of
New South Wales and the most
populous city in Australia and
Oceania. As of June 2017,
Sydney's estimated metropolitan
population was 5,131,326.
Popular destinations include the
Sydney Harbour Bridge,
Watsons Bay, The Rocks,
Sydney Tower, Darling Harbour.
In the picture you can see The
Sydney Opera House that is is a
multi-venue performing arts
Sydney (Australia) – The Sydney Opera centre, designed by Danish
House architect Jørn Utzon, the building
was formally opened on 20
October 1973, The building and
its surrounds occupy the whole
of Bennelong Point on Sydney
Harbour, between Sydney Cove
and Farm Cove.
Edinburgh is the capital city of
Scotland, The official population
estimates are 1,339,380 (2014)
for the city region, it is home to
national institutions such as the
National Museum of Scotland,
the National Library of Scotland,
the Scottish National Gallery and
the University of Edinburgh. In
the picture you can see The
Edinburgh Castle that is is a
historic fortress which dominates
the skyline of the city,
Archaeologists have established
Edinburgh (Scotland) – Edinburgh Castle human occupation of the rock
since at least the Iron Age.

Dubai is the largest and most


populous city in the United Arab
Emirates, Sydney's estimated
metropolitan population was
3,117,982 at 4 September 2018.
The large-scale real estate
development projects have led
to the construction of some of
the tallest skyscrapers and
largest projects in the world such
as the Emirates Towers, the
Palm Islands and the most
expensive hotel, the Burj Al
Dubai (United Arab Emirates) – The Burj Arab, In the picture you can see
Khalifa The Burj Khalifa has been the
tallest structure and building in
the world since its topping out in
late 2008, the building
Construction began in 2004 as
part of a new development
called Downtown Dubai.
