Dissertation Title: The Psychological Wellbeing of Students at the University of Malta.

Dissertation Supervisor: Prof. Carmel Cefai

Purpose/Procedure: I am an undergraduate, B.Psy(Hons) student, currently in second year. My study

will be looking at university students’ psychological wellbeing, the protective factors which promote

students’ psychological wellbeing, and how the University of Malta contributes to the students’

psychological wellbeing. You are being asked to voluntarily participate in this study because you are a

first-year undergraduate student at the University of Malta. Participation in this study involves

completion of a one-time online survey.

Risks: There are no known risks involved. However, should you find the questions upsetting for any

reason, you may discontinue the online questionnaire at any time. If the questionnaire evokes any distress

help may be sought through the counselling services available at the university.

Benefits: Your participation could help us understand first-year undergraduate students’ psychological

wellbeing, which may benefit you indirectly. In the future, this may aid The University of Malta to better

assist students in promoting their psychological wellbeing.

Confidentiality: This questionnaire is completely anonymous and no names will appear anywhere in the

study. Personal details have been kept to a minimum and as general as possible. Thus, no participant will

be identifiable.
Voluntary Participation and Withdrawal: You must be 18 years of age or over to participate in this

study. Participation in this study is completely voluntary. Each participant is free to discontinue

participation in this online questionnaire at any time.
