of strength and of frailty,
of happiness and of pain.”
Hennepin staff and members walk with one another through some of life’s most
significant moments. Clergy in particular are a part of the joy and sadness of holy
moments: birth, baptism, weddings, illness, and death. Over the years, many of
our members, their family, and friends have experienced a struggle with cancer,
and we rejoice with survivors and weep with those who have lost a loved one.
So, when Hennepin was given the opportunity to join with the entire Twin Cities
community to enhance awareness of the American Cancer Society, I said YES, we
will light the steeple PINK in October! Church member Jay Dailey of CBS Radio is
spearheading this event, and we will join with other landmark buildings in the
Twin Cities: the Basilica, St. Paul Cathedral, I-35W Bridge, the Capitol, the Foshay
Tower and more. You may even buy a pink bulb for your house from your local
Ace Hardware.
So, this is just one effort to speak to our community. But there are so many
more ways that you can reach out and invite new persons to Hennepin. Consider
these special October events when you could bring a friend:
Sunday Oct 3 or 31, 4:00 PM — Volunteer at Community Meals
Sunday Oct 3, 11:00 AM — Blessing of the Animals
thru Sunday Oct 10 — Sculpture Show in the Art Gallery
Sunday Oct 17, 9:30 AM — Bishop Sally Dyck, guest preacher
Thursday Oct 28, 6:45 PM — Interfaith Forum at Hennepin
Friday Oct 29, 7:00 PM — Halloween Movie: Nosferatu

See you — and a friend — at worship and at these events!

DONOR AND CUSTOMER APPRECIATION DAYS AT STEEPLE PEOPLE

The success of Steeple People Surplus Store is due to our generous donors and faithful customers. The Board, volunteers
and staff of SPSS wishes to express our appreciation by inviting you to stop by the store on Friday, Oct. 22 from 10:30 AM to
5:30 PM or Saturday, Oct. 23 from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM. There will be treats, discounts (25% off any one item in the store)
and a drawing for SPSS gift certificates. We are proud of the store and its service to our community and would like to thank
our donors and customers in person. And, if you aren’t a donor or customer but a little curious, we invite you to come learn
about this great outreach ministry. But be forewarned, temptations are lurking in every department.
