Here is my conceptual design pic. which try to had curve all over the building, and .......... ~_especially the facade itself as the identity.

Woolloongabba itself is an area that ~------I surrounded by several community center such as Bas, restaurant, Stadium which start degrading. While in old time, it is famous as the community central that passed by Tram.

My respond of It to the site was try to

This time in Woolongabba, I also try st so people can have ease access to

My design try to had cuve shape on the facade, In order to give new Image of woollongabba which still Judge as old

old existing building style, I try to create one unique tbUllt for WooIIoGnoabba.

The degrading Issue make me to

create more community place, such as or recreational area at the roof which able to enjoy the view of Woollongabba.

When it add by the existence

of Art centre, in this case the theatre, its actually become one chance to convert Woollongabba as center of community and

new retail space.

People will determine the front and the rear through the facade, which is transparent, although both side has exact same shape. The rear facade will become a place where the rehearsal practice occured. It will become a lure and also a sneak peek to

what performance or show will occur In this theatre. People from stanley could find small path area

The sun came through the theatre without become obstacle for the other building, and especially the facade was glass, is also be able to penetrate inside the building and become Indirect lighting. Despite the height that over the other building, it also become good shader for Logan rd in the morning. I felt the sun light in this site in the middle day was really direct and hot, which is why I made It high, so it could produce shade in front of it. The glare created by facade also became a unique of this building which the others building around it don't have.

8 row of seat in the Ground floor, 4 row of seat in the first floor, and another 3 row of seat on the second floor gave total of 204 people who can enjoy the mini procenium theatre. The height different each row is 26 cm, which based to the standard, and only the second floor are doubled to get the degree so

it able to have angle to view the stage clearly. One of my solution to the sight angle is by change the material of the fence on first and second floor become a transparent material, so it gave clear view.

The Acoustic is clearly are approachable to most of the seat available in it. I even try to put carpet as absorbant to over noise created by the source. The wood panel on the roof of the theatre gave reflection to the audience on top especially. While the ground level audience is the best seat since they can hear the clear sound created either its music or speech.

Stage surrounding also use wood panel so the performer can measure their own voice that they made, so they can adjust if there any annoying noise. And the wall thickness that seperate the theatre with the outside area is SO em thick with concrete. It also help to stop the noise to penetrate to outside.

The stage itself able to had many kind of performance, dance, drama, art, music show, cabaret, single performance, speech, and more. It Is really suitable to establish In middle of degrading woolloongabbe

The Foundation

The section perspective - Force Analysis -

The red arrow represent the pressure while the green is the opposite force that against the pressure. The roof gave heavy pressure which is become greater as the inside of theatre hall is none supported by columns, it only rely by the column exist on the side. The other pressure came from side of the building Is not giving big significance, since most of It Is dead load that support by Its own supporting column. That Is why the roof Is made with light material as possible such as using wood for the floor, metal or aluminium as the frame

The foundation is concrete column that distance in overall approx : 4.SM far. The SOcmxSOcm column is located around the theatre wall in order to hold more weight of the roof and upper floor.

The Basement had only one way to enter for transportation, but it can be refrain by using sensor that will light the alert lamp and sound to the top or the person down In the parking lot.

The laminated glass was took from the Sydney opera house technology which I found

Wood floor

One of the building problem is the facede which has struggle with the glass structure. To make it stand clear and strong, it needed strong foundation of structure to hold with, which is the steel structure that lined from edge of the facede to another ( seen the vertical line of galss facade ). The metal frame roof will be as light as possible to reduce the pressure upon this facade structure. On the bottom of it, supported by 4 support which is concrete that joined the main columns of the building.

metal frame roof

The main big weight is the laminated glasses, it has 30 piece of glass in approx that need to put as the facede. The heat that coming through the glass will be reduce the heat by changing the colour of the glasses into darker and surounding surface of the interior painted white. The wood itself is neutral material for 4 season climate such as brisbane.

The rehearsal area contain heavy activiy and also used as multi - function area, this area supported by strong column. The same thing also occur to the front facade that face Logan rd, heavy activities of Retail space, Lounge area are joined to the SOxSO column on the theatre wall.

Facade area is using wood material as the floor surface and laminated glasses as the facade. The laminated glass used so It hard to break and able to refrain fetal accident.
