Cohen, Rachel, and Alex Blaszczynski. "Comparative effects of Facebook and conventional

This article discusses how people think a lot more about their self presentation in social
media. Cohen emphasized that people manipulate their profiles to conform to societal
ideals. This article supports my argument that due to the influence of social media, it
influences the way people present themselves to the world. People begin to present

September 2018. This article discusses the effects of social media and how it changes the
perception of a female’s body and their self worth. Perloff concludes that social media
causes to negative comparison which leads to lowering female’s self esteem. This article
supports my argument about how social media is negatively affecting females causing
them to constantly compare themselves to others and need to satisfy their personal

reassurance needs. I wanted to use social comparison as my example due to the fact that

media. Due to how people are being particular on what photos they post to show their
identity, I found this article to very well prove my argument on how social media affects
