1. POSITION DETAILS
Position Title Graduate Engagement Manager - NCS
Office Huyton (some regional travel will be required within
Merseyside/Cheshire)
Reports to (title) National Marketing Manager - NCS
Salary range £22,500 - £29,895
Contract Permanent
Hours of Work 9.00am – 5.30pm
(some flexibility required around evenings and weekends)

2. PURPOSE
A brief overview of the role

The NCS Graduate Manager will be responsible for planning and carrying out a wide
range of graduate engagement activities in line with agreed national and regional
graduate engagement strategies on the exciting National Citizen Service contract.
They will work in partnership with the recruitment team and local delivery partners to
ensure that NCS graduates continue to engage with NCS after completing the formal
programme, by sourcing and facilitating a range of local graduate opportunities.

The Graduate Manager will ensure the graduate offer is embedded throughout all
aspects of the NCS programme, including operations and delivery, exploring
innovative and creative ways of organising and promoting opportunities to ensure
continued engagement.

They will be required to report on ROI and measure performance and engagement
against contractual targets.

The Graduate Manager must be committed to helping young people, providing them
with support, guiding them towards opportunities for personal and social development
and encouraging them to achieve their potential.

Some flexibility will be required around evening and weekend working, with regular
travel across Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire and occasional travel elsewhere. A car user
is preferable.

3. ACCOUNTABILITIES
Describe the key responsibilities and duties of the role
Key duties

 Participate in and lead on graduate events and activities in partnership with


the NCS Trust and the Regional Youth Board.
 Lead, inspire and maintain a strong Regional Youth Board, organizing regular
activities, keeping in regular communication with them and ensuring graduate
representation from across the region.
 Work in partnership with the regional recruitment team to ensure the training,
support and attendance of graduates at relevant recruitment events.
 Work with partners across the NCS network to develop future opportunities for
graduates.
 Ensure that NCS participants nearing completion of the programme are aware
of our graduate offer and how to get involved.
 In conjunction with Graduate Managers from our other regions, lead on
ongoing development of the graduate offer and contribute to strategic and
tactical planning at a regional and national level, regularly reviewing and
developing engagement strategies.
 In conjunction with the marketing team, develop a schedule of push
communications to graduates for opportunities they may have an interest in.
 Compile and distribute a monthly graduate newsletter.
 Ensure national campaigns are activated and amplified at a regional level,
including NCS Action Day.
 Contribute to regional social media feeds and ensure ongoing, engaging
content creation relating to graduate engagement activities.
 Ensure regular updates and creation of relevant content for the graduate
section of our website.
 Identify opportunities to collect and create testimonials and case studies as
well as photography and film content, working with the marketing team.
 Liaise and network with a range of stakeholders including customers,
colleagues, suppliers and partner organisations, including the NCS Trust.
 Contribute to market research, including graduate focus groups.
 Evaluate performance against KPIs and report on engagement targets.
 Champion NCS graduates and young people more widely, working with them
to develop their self-confidence, esteem and empowerment.
 Champion Ingeus’ NCS Graduate offer at a national level with the NCS Trust,
regularly sharing best practice with other regional providers.

4. KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
What specific knowledge/experience/qualifications are required for this role

 Experience and understanding of communicating with a youth audience and


building good relationships with young people.
 Ability to work independently, project managing graduate engagement for the
region.
 Ability to think creatively, critically and strategically to ensure our
communication and engagement activities are delivered effectively and
continually improved to ensure high levels of engagement.
 Experience of organizing and running events, workshops or sessions, ideally
aimed at a youth audience.
 Presentation skills – ability to present confidently to large groups of people.
 Communication skills – excellent written and verbal communications skills,
with the ability to adapt communication styles to engage the required target
audience.
 Relationship management skills - ability to manage relationships effectively
with a range of external partners, internal departments and with a youth
audience.
 Experience and understanding of engagement planning.
 Experience of sourcing opportunities and communicating these in a way that
drives and increases awareness and engagement.
 Ability to effectively measure performance and report clearly on achievement
against targets. A successful track record of setting and delivering against
targets.
 Commitment to encouraging young people, providing them with support and
guidance and helping them to achieve their potential.
 Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding, data protection, health and
safety, risk assessment and inclusion policies.
