Greetings Sir/s!

I am a fourth year Juris Doctor student at the University of Cebu College of Law
who is currently enrolled in the JD thesis subject for the first semester of the Academic
year 2016-2017. Under this program, I am required to submit an academic paper or
study (thesis) in order to comply with the said subject.

The subject of my study particularly revolves around GRAB (formerly

GRABTAXI). The initial title of my study is “THE GRAB EFFECT: ASSOCIATING
APPARENT AUTHORITY TO THE POSSIBLE CHANGES IN THE CIVIL
OBLIGATIONS (CULPA CONTRACTUAL and CULPA AQUILIANA) OF
TRANSPORTATION NETWORK VEHICLE SERVICE (TNVS) TAXIS.” The
aim of the study is simple. It is to determine, if there is the presence or absence of
liability of your Company (MYTAXI.ph or GRABTAXI.ph) in case of accidents involving
the fleet of GrabTaxis enrolled under your mobile application.

In this light, the researcher would want to seek for your office’s approval in order
to gather relevant data appertaining to the following relevant matters:

1. The history of the GRABTaxi in the Philippines or in Cebu if possible.

2. The methodology or flow of enrolling individual Taxis (operators) under the Grab
application which shall not be limited to the application forms, the requirements
and other relevant matters to the enrollment process.
3. The contract between the parties (GRAB and Individual Operators) which
highlights specifically on the obligations of the parties and perhaps on the
limitation of liability.

The researcher would want to emphasize that the purpose of this interview is purely
for data gathering as important variable in this study. The purpose mainly is to supply
the gaps of information from those provided for by media outlets in certain online
reports pertaining to your office.

Rest assured that all the information gathered from your office shall strictly be
confidential and shall be utilized solely for academic purpose specifically on the
aforementioned study.
