Early Family Background and Created - He was born to Abdulfattah Jandi and
Family Structure Joanne Schieble and was later adopted
by Paul Jobs and Clara Hagopian.
- Steve Jobs was given up for adoption
after Joanne had found out she was
pregnant but her father did not want her
with Abdulfattah where she then decided
that she was going to give up the child.
- He was adopted into a family of Joannes
choice in San Francisco where they were
Catholic, educated and wealthy.
- Went to Homestead High School and then
to Reed College where he was studying
physics, literature, and poetry and soon
after decided to take up a calligraphy
class.
- Apple computer was founded in Steve
Jobs’ garage in Los Altos, CA.

Personality Characteristics and Areas of - Worked with his dad doing woodwork
Aptitude, Talent, and Interest - By the age of 10, he was into the
electronics.
- Jobs’ father built him a workbench in the
garage so that Steve may possibly take
up his love of mechanics.

music a lot and read outside of science
and technology.

Major Career/Professional Events and - Steve Jobs theater opens at Apple Park in
Accomplishments Cupertino, California.
- On April 1, 1976; Steve Jobs led a small
group who created the Apple I.
- Once they released the Apple II in 1977,
the desktop computer was soon being
used in schools and offices.
- In 1985, he created the laserwriter which
was Mac’s first laser printer to hit the
market.
- In 1986, Steve Jobs bought Pixar and
created his first film which was Toy Story.

Personal Life Themes/Beliefs - Was born at first into an Arab Muslim


household to Abdulfattah Jandi.
- When he was adopted by Paul Jobs, he
was brought into a Calvinist household.
- He converted to Buddhism and he had a
monk who watched over his wedding.
- He was always very focused on what
needed to be done and never gave up on
his plans.
- He believed that anything could be
accomplished no matter how insane it
was to other people.

Lasting Contributions - Invented the Apple II in 1977 which was


the first big seller of Apple.
- In 1984, he invented the Apple Macintosh
which was when Steve Jobs saw these
computers really going in the right
direction.
- After he left Apple and returned, he
invented the iPod, iPhone and iPad.
- He launched iTunes in 2003 so that
people were no longer downloading music
illegally.
- The App Store where people can
download things onto their phones such
as social media or games.

Death and Aftermath - Died at his home in Cupertino, California.


- He died due to complications from his
pancreatic tumor that had relapsed.
- He died with his wife, sisters and children
by his side.
- His last words were “Oh wow. Oh wow.
Oh wow.”
- Only a small private funeral was done for
him on October 7, 2011.
