S To check compatibility of new thickener, Samsung B-30K with our existing latex in SVAXAE1
and VLOX5048.
B Raw material compatibility test with latex in the following product;
(A) SVAXAE1: WA811AF
(B) VLOX5048: Emultex N6163 / Celvolit 1602
H
P Test of compatibility between thickener with existing latex, to observe for any gelation of the
mixture. (Disperse equipment: QA despa.)
Check initial viscosity of tested samples’ and viscosity after 6D storage in 40degC oven.

[S- (A) Samsung B-30K is quite similar to AT 250 (initial viscosity: 90.8 KU) in SVA AE1.
R] (Note: AT 250 disperse speed 1000 – 1200 rpm. Samsung B-30K disperse speed 1000 –
1500 rpm due to thicker viscosity upon addition of AW 950)
- Upon 6D storage in 40degC oven, Samsung B-30K has a lower viscosity drop as compared
to AT 250 in SVA AE1.

(B) VLOX5048 with Samsung B-30K using either Emultex N6163 or Celvolit 1602 has a
higher initial viscosity after dispersing.
(Note: AT 250 disperse speed 1000 – 1200 rpm. Samsung B-30K disperse speed 1000 –
1500 rpm due to thicker viscosity upon addition of AW 950)
- Upon 6D storage in 40degC oven, Samsung B-30K has comparable viscosity drop as
compared to AT 250 in VLOX5048 using Emultex N6163 or Celvolit 1602.

C 1. Samsung B-30K was observed to have a thicker viscosity upon addition of AW950.
2. No gelation or abnormality was observed in latex compatibility test with Samsung B-30K
when subjected to storage at 40degC for 6 days.
3. Viscosity drop was observed in the tested products using Samsung B-30K and AT 250. This
may be due to no in-can protection biocide was added into the compatibility mixture.
