8.0 EQUIPMENT / TOOL LIST

 Low Speed Electrical Mixer (max. 500 rpm)
 Stirring Paddle

 Air Compressor
 Mech. Tools for Grinding and High Pressure Jet

 Mixing clean pails

 Hand Tools

 Appropriate PPE
9. METHODOLOGY

9.1 General:
 Strictly follow HSE guidelines.

 Permit to Work system shall be strictly adhered to, while carrying out activities.

 Gas testing shall be conducted by qualified gas tester if required and frequency of gas
testing as mentioned on permit shall be firmly adhered.

 Tool Box Talk shall be conducted before commencement of work.

 All the equipment deployed at site to be approved by the Company.

 All personnel deployed at site must have undergone with PDO mandatory training courses
and site HSE induction.

 Erect sufficient warning signs and warning tape to prevent unauthorized access .

9.2 Preparatory Works:

The most important preparation steps for installation of the equipment grout are:

 Accurate calculation of the amount of grout needed.

 Checking temperatures during the grouting procedure, maximum substrate and ambient
temperature should be 40 degree Celsius.
 Check for the volume of the grouting area and confirm max. layer thickness in case of large
pockets (>150 mm width), grouting in several layers or lifts may be necessary.
 Ensure that the substrate is in good condition and that all cement laitance, oil, dust, dirt and any
other foreign material is removed. It must also be dry and free from any standing water.
 Check for usage of appropriate formwork method and apply proper release agent to prevent
bonding with the grout.
 Check for adequate sealing of formwork to avoid any leakage.

9.3 Mixing:
The mixing and preparation of the grout should be done as per the respective method statements for
1. Epoxy Grout – Sikadur 42 MP Slow
2. Cementitious Grout – Master Flow 950
9.4 Application:

9.4.1 Skid with Internal Beams:

If the equipment is already installed, formwork will be done only along the peripheral beam and
grouting will be carried out. Grouting on the internal beams will be provided, if required, after
consultation with the engineering team. The remaining areas will be treated appropriately with
Dekguard. If the surface is already scrabbled, appropriate repair mortar will be applied to
reinstate the surface.
If the equipment is not installed, upon consultation from engineering team, formwork will be done
along outside skid frame where anchoring is present and grouting will be carried out. For the
remaining area, Dekguard will be applied and proper drainage arrangements will be made for
draining out the water.

9.4.2 Skid with Grating:

If the equipment is already installed, appropriate Construction Joints are to be provided in place
and grouting will be done. Outside formwork will be done and grouting will be carried out in the
anchored position.
If the grating cannot be removed, only then full grouting can be carried out with appropriate
expansion joints provided by giving flexure sheets at a maximum span of 1.5 meter.

9.4.3 Skid with Full Chequered Plate:

If the Equipment is not erected, upon consultation with the engineering team, formwork will be
done along the anchorage area and expansion joints will be provided by providing flexure sheets
at a span of 1.5 meter..
If the equipment is already erected, total grouting will be done and appropriate grout holes will be
provided for chequered plates with consultation with engineering and vendor. It will be closed
later with appropriate methods.

9.4.4 Tanks:
All the tanks with cementitious grout shall be done as per the method statement with Reference
No. KHF-00-101983-BA-6070-01038-0000. The grouting for Tank T-4701, where the grout has to
be done with CONBEXTRA HT shall be in compliance with the vendors method statement. The
same will be furnished in due course of time.
9.4.5 Rotating Equipment:
With the rotating equipment having bolt sleeve, stage wise grouting will be conducted with
appropriate methodology as approved by the vendor.
Pocket Grouting will be carried out as follows:
Alignment and placement of grout.
Alignment and Base plate grouting.
Final Alignment and Grouting of Skid.

In the case of Rotating equipment without bolt sleeve, grouting will be done on the skid after
equipment erection or appropriate technique will be adopted as per the vendors requirement.
