SECTION A: GAME DETAILS

The name of the board game is Athletic Mind. Athletic Mind is a track-like board game

where the players of the game, the ‘runners’ will compete among them. In the track, there is 15

line that divided the track into several sections where the ‘runners’ can move on when they get

a right answer. Each line carry 1 mark. For the ‘runners’ that failed to answer the questions

correctly or do not know the answer, the particular ‘runner’ cannot move forward from the line.

The board game is for those who are taking English Literature subject as the questions

are specifically designed based on the subject. In addition, 5 players or runners are sufficient

for the board game. The runners need to answer each question correctly to become a winner.

In order to play it, the ‘runners’ need sufficient knowledge on English Literature and a broad

mind. The aim of the game is to promote critical thinking in each player. Besides, the game

aims to make each player learn English Literature in a very fun way. Moreover, the game aims

to promote competition between each player in a healthy way.

SECTION B: RULES AND INSTRUCTIONS

RULES

1. Each colour represent a group and this game allows up to 5-6 ‘athletes’ to play
simultaneously.
2. Only 30 seconds is provided to answer each question.
3. The referee is the only one who can decide whether the answer is correct or wrong.
4. Each question are provided with marks ranging from 1 to 4.
5. The ‘athletes’ must answer the question within 30 seconds by writing.
6. Cheat and referring to any notes are prohibited.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. To start the game, each ‘runner’ need to throw a dice to determine their turns to pick

the card.

2. The ‘runner’ that manage to obtain the highest number will start to pick the special card

first.

3. However, if two ‘runners’ obtain similar number, then each of them must re-throw the

dice.

4. The ‘runner’ that has the highest number will start the challenge by picking a card from

any colour and then give it to the referee.

5. The referee will then read the questions.

6. Then, all the athletes are given 30 seconds to write their answer on a piece of paper.

7. When times up, they need to show their answer at the same time.

8. The referee then will recognize who manage to answer the question correctly.

9. Those who can answer correctly can make their moves according to the marks provided

in each questions. Be aware that each line carries one mark. Those who cannot answer

correctly stay cannot move forward.

10. Repeat step 4 to 9. This time the runner with second highest number should pick the

card.

11. The first athlete who reached the finish line will become the winner.
