Test Pattern – There will be two linked tests comprising the below sections:

Section No. of
Questions

Programming 2 1

Programming 3 1

Total Time 60 Mins

So Basically there were 3 questions quite manageably for anyone who is in regular Competitive
Programming Practise.Main Issue was time as 2 questions were quite easy third question was quite time
taking.

Question 1:

Given a number.
7839564
Print number placed at the even places only.

Output: 896
Time Taken to Code : 2 mins
Question 2:

Given numbers from 1 to n with 1 number missing.Print the missing number

Output: 5

Time taken to Code: 2 mins

Question 3:

Closest leaf to a given node in Binary Tree

ROUND 4 : (First F2F interview)

After General Introduction

Interviewer : A post office is set at a village and it has 5 postmans which can deliver the posts to various
locations in the village cost if each way was given.Even the cost of each postman was given too. I had to
code for minimizing the cost of the post office to distribute all the posts.

Me : Was not able to grasp the exact requirement of the question. Started coding with adjacent list. After
coding for a while Interviewer reviewed my code and explained the problem again. After few more tries and
hint from Interviewer I was able to code as per the requirement using pair and vector.
Concept : Dijktra’s Shortest Path

Interviewer: An Engineer wants to repair all the roads in his city. Weight of every direction was given. Find
the least cost to repair all the roads of the city.

Me : Was able to do it easily. It was a straight question which involved concept of KRUSKAL Algorithm.

Interviewer: There are 4 persons (A, B, C and D) who want to cross a bridge in night.
A takes 1 minute to cross the bridge.

B takes 2 minutes to cross the bridge.

C takes 5 minutes to cross the bridge.

D takes 8 minutes to cross the bridge.

There is only one torch with them and the bridge cannot be crossed without the torch. There cannot be
more than two persons on the bridge at any time, and when two people cross the bridge together, they
must move at the slower person’s pace

Can they all cross the bridge in 15 minutes?

Me: Tried the above puzzle first with A and D pair crossing the bridge initially but it was not the correct
answer.

Interviewer : Are you sure with the answer?

Me: i’ll check it once more and let you know.Took me a while to calculate the correct answer.

Interviewer: Can you code the above problem statement

Me : It was very difficult for me.Tried various approaches involving Dynamic Programming too but wasn't
able to provide the exact solution somewhat near to it.

torch-problem%2F

Interviewer : Moved on to trees.Find the Inorder and preorder of a given tree.

Me: Solved easily.

Interviewer : Given a Inorder and preorder traversal of a tree. Can we find that they belong to the same
tree.

Me : Possible by trying to construct the tree from the given traversals. If the tree is constructed we can
conclude that they belong to the same tree.

Interviewer : Can you code?

Me: took me a while but was able to do it with no errors.

Interviewer : Gave me random BST and asked to print it in some kind of pattern.

Me: Initially it was hard for me to recognise the pattern it was printing in. After a while and with a hint I was
able to recognize the pattern.

Interviewer : Code it

Me: Tried my best. Was stuck in the recursive part of the code.

Refer the Link https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/diagonal-traversal-of-binary-tree/

Round Cleared

ROUND 5 :

Interviewer : Tell me about the ongoing job at Octro Inc.

Me: Told him everything from hadoop, big data to Kafka. As my profile in octro is Big data engineer it really
helped me to impress the interviewer with the same.

Interviewer : Asked me more about the use of HBASE and COUCHBASE. Difference and architecture of
the two.

Me: Hbase was configured by me at Octro so it was quite easy to explain in detail.

Interviewer : Gave me a question in which number from a range of m to n is given.(m < n) Find the
smallest number missing from the list.

Me: Solved using Set Data structures took me a while. Was Able to code it too.

Interviewer : Draw an architecture for a Mobile Contacts App.

Me: With some help from the Interviewer solved it using Struct and Map.
NISSAN INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE
Interviewer : Given the set of number. Only 2 number are interchanged in order.Find the position with the
most optimized approach.

Me: Solved it using BST insertion Concept
