Learning Objectives
The subject of building information modelling (BIM) has become a central topic to the improvement of the AECOO
(Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Owner and Operator) industry around the world. Transitioning BIM into the
domain of infrastructure projects has provided challenges and emphasized the constructor perspective of BIM. Bentley
Systems and Autodesk software are a design and documentation solution for civil engineering that supports building
information modeling (BIM) workflows. By learning to use Power Civil, Power Rail, Civil 3D, you can improve project
performance, maintain consistent data, follow standard processes, and respond faster to change. This course gets you up
and running with Bentley Power Civil, Bentley Power Rail and AutoCAD Civil 3D. First, Dr. Salvatore Antonio
Biancardo shows how to model a surface, design geometry, including the making of horizontal alignments and vertical
profiles. Next, Dr. Biancardo demonstrates how to create and model corridors, cross sections, bridge, intersections and
generate a materials quantity report. Attendees will receive a non-commercial student license for participation in this
course and specialization. Attendees are required to install Bentley Systems and Autodesk software packages on their
own computer.
Topics include:
Navigating the Power Civil, Power Rail, Civil 3D interface
Creating and Analyzing Surfaces
Working with Alignments
Working with Profiles and Profile Views
Working with Assemblies and Subassemblies
Creating Basic and Advanced Corridors
Making Sample lines, Cross Sections, and Section views
Modeling Bridge and Intersections
