4 RESPONSIBILITIES
All the activities will be coordinated with the concerned authorities to obtain work
permit; the construction and control of site activities should be under the
responsibilities of the following persons:
o Superintendent
He has the overall responsibility for the site preparation management in accordance
with the contract requirements.
He shall control the execution of the work in compliance with this Method of
Statement plan and coordinates with Local authority and asset holders.
He has the overall responsibility for the implementation of all safety measures,
procedures which is required for the proper execution of the work defined under in
this Method of Statement. He shall also ensure that all safety requirements are
followed/ implemented.
o Civil Engineer
He has overall responsibility for the implementation of site works activities which are
defined under this Method of Statement. He shall report to Superintendent for any problems
encountered during work execution.
o Supervisor
He has the responsibility for the proper execution in accordance with this WMS. He shall
arrange the manpower, equipment and materials needed at the site area, he will report to
the Civil Engineer.

b. Manual excavation
Only manual excavation shall be carried out during actual work until
exposure of the pipe.
The existent pipes buried give important information regarding the
designing location and elevation which may affect during actual
construction of pipeline foundation.
Excavation of the Pits is referred from the given data / information which
are attached in this document.
Work Permits prior to the start of excavation shall be secured from Local
authority which may affect their existing pipeline.
(All requirements, proposition and safety measures shall be followed)
Only hand tools shall be used during excavation.
Trial pit 43 shall be excavated according to the given details or if necessary,
pit dimension could be broadened or intensify if feasible.
Excavated areas shall be reinstated as soon as important details/
information were completely attained.
Excavations shall be done by 10 to 15 workers or as per needed
manpower.
Working hours will be the time required given by the concerned authority or
06:00 to 18:00 hrs on the date required for the trial excavation.
