Reporting to the Specialist Supervisor, the Control Valve Specialist ensures the safe, reliable operation of Control Valves at the Shell Scotford Site. This role will provide leadership for the Control Valve theme, driving business value through proactive problem solving, assurance and long-term thinking Accountabilities: ‘+ Subject matter expert for the control valve portfolio on the Scotford site. ‘+ Provide technical assurance and guidance for the design, specification and installation of control valves and associated hardware. ‘+ Implement successful practices to improve control valve reliability and minimize life cycle costs. ‘+ Work with vendors to improve support and reliability of site control valves. ‘* Develop and ensure control valve policies and practices are followed on site. + Leads the testing of new valve technology, and advises on selection of appropriate control valve hardware for severe service applications. ‘= Review control valve obsolescence concerns and develop replacement alternatives.
