HOMEBOUND
We are grateful to those who give of
their time and care to bring Holy Com-
munion to our parishioners who can-
not make it to church due to sickness
or infirmity. If you know of anyone who would like to
receive communion in their home or while hospitalized
at West Lincoln Hospital, please contact the parish
office.
SANCTUARY LAMP
We have openings for the Sanctuary Lamp in 2019.
If you would like to book a particular week in memory
of your loved one, please contact the office sooner ra-
ther than later as the year is filling up. Cost is $35.00
per week.
CANADIAN TIRE MONEY
We continue to collect your Canadian Tire
money. It can be brought to the office or placed in
the collection basket.

CWL Christmas Dinner: Tuesday December 4th af-
ter the 6:30 Mass. We welcome all ladies of the parish
to join the CWL members at a Christmas Dinner. Tick-
ets will be going on sale shortly at a cost of $25.00 per
person. Tickets can be purchased from Colleen Drake
or any of the executive members.
LEAVING MASS EARLY/AFTER COMMUNION
Just a reminder that Mass has not ended until the priest
and ministers have left the altar and the recessional
hymn is finished. In the name of Christ and the com-
munity and with the blessing of almighty God, we are
sent out into the world to “be” good news for all whom
we meet. It is a courtesy to God and the community not
to leave the assembly early.
SVDP - NORTH OF 60 PROJECT THANKS
Fr. Daniel OMI of Our Lady of the Snows Church in
Naujaat, Nunavut is sending prayers and a huge thank
you to the Niagara area SVDP councils and parishion-
ers for sending up supplies. St. Helen’s donated bags of
rice. He said it was lots of work to sort out the two con-
tainers. It took them three days but it was good to work
together. Lots of kids and people came to help. There
was also a team from Vancouver from CBC making a
tv show (it should be on next year September) about the
sealift in the North. So they also were filming the arriv-
ing and unpacking of our containers. Regarding the
painting on the containers, they look beautiful. He has
already started giving out the food hampers to those in
need.

Throughout history in the East and the

West, various cultures worshipped multi-
ple gods: the Egyptians, the Greeks, the
Romans, etc. To number them all, it
would count in the thousands. Somehow,
civilization devised a god for all occa-
sions.
Yet, in comparison, the Jews worshipped one God only.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus declares, “The Lord our God is
Lord alone!” with the admonition to love the Lord with
all our hearts, souls, minds and strength. In our world
today, we may worship other gods of money, posses-
sions, power and prestige. We may profess one God, but
we still have other gods of addiction and distractions

Fr. Ben Weber and Margaret Jong, canon lawyers from
our diocesan Marriage Tribunal, will discuss true facts
and false claims about Catholic marriage annulments.
The presentation will be offered once in each deanery,
and is open to anyone interested in applying for an an-
nulment or learning about annulments and the ministry

PRAYER WHEN VISITING A CEMETERY
Eternal God, have mercy on all who are buried ere; in
particular, we pray for (names). Bring them into your
kingdom of light and peace, and let them share joy with
you and with all the saints. Through Christ our Lord.

God, Our Father, loving and merciful, bring together
and keep all families in perfect unity of love and mutual
support.
Instil in each member the spirit of understanding and
affection for each other.
Keep quarrels and bitterness far from them, and for their

May the mutual love and affection of parents set a
good example.
Instil in children self-respect that they may respect
others and grow in mature independence.
May the mutual affection and respect of families be a
sign of Christian life here and hereafter, through Jesus
