A RESOLUTION STRONGLY SUPPORTING THE ANTI-ILLEGAL DRUG

CAMPAIGN OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT OF TANGUB CITY, THE
DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION (DepEd), THE PHILIPPINE NATIONAL
POLICE AND THE PHILIPPINE DRUG ENFORCEMENT AGENCY (PDEA),
THIS CITY

WHEREAS, illegal drug trade is rampant in the entire country where even
remote areas are not spared from it proliferation;

WHEREAS, as a social menace, illegal drug trade ruins not only the good
future of the young generation, but the foundation of every family as well;

WHEREAS, the increasing criminalities, vagrancies, teenage pregnancies,

heart and mental diseases, school dropouts, behavioral and personality
changes, and other social problems can be associated with the use of
dangerous drugs;

WHEREAS, as a lucrative business, heartless drug lords and syndicates,

erring political officials and law enforcers are unmindful in destroying peoples’
lives just to earn easy huge money;

WHEREAS, government officials are duty-bound to protect the physical and

mental well-being of its citizens from abuses, exploitation, vulnerability, and
other forms of social ills such as the atrocious drug addiction and dependence;
WHEREAS, the current Anti-Illegal Drug Campaign of His Excellency,
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, which precipitated to the apprehension and
surrender of suspected drug pushers, is seem to be effective in thwarting drug
menace which certainly needs support and auspice;

WHEREAS, the City Government of Tangub espoused the “SAGIP DRUG

USERS PROGRAM” with the primary objective to deter the use of dangerous
drugs and rehabilitate the drug users thereby enabling all Tangubanons to live
without use and menace of dangerous drugs, enjoy the fullest life compatible
with their capabilities and potentials and render them to become a law abiding
and productive members of the community;

WHEREAS, the Department of Education (DepEd), this City strengthens the

program implementation by establishing Barkada Kontra Droga Chapters in
schools; intensifying anti-drug abuse information campaigns; and involving
Parent-Teacher-Community Associations and pupil/student organizations in
drug abuse prevention activities;

WHEREAS, PNP OPLAN - DOUBLE BARREL PROJECT TOKHANG where police

personnel knocks the doors of an alleged drug user or pusher, asking him/her
that he/she will surrender to the police in order that they will be monitored
for further assessment in the barangay and other such programs to suppress
the proliferation of illegal drugs; and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency
(PDEA) programs on the War on Drugs.

NOW THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SANGGUNIANG BARANGAY OF MALORO,

TANGUB CITY IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED, to support and
strengthen the linkages with the City Government of Tangub City and the
Philippine National Police, the Department of Education (DepEd), and the
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on their Anti-Illegal Crug
Campaign.

RESOLVED, FURTHER, that a copy of this Resolution be furnished to the

Office of the City Mayor, City Sangguniang Panlungsod, the Department of
Education (DepEd), the Philippine National Police, this City, and the Philippine
Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Provincial Office for their information.
