The ZXA10 C300M uses the following three types of cabinets.
l 19-inch indoor cabinet B6030-22C-IB: 300 mm depth,used for IEC 19-inch shelf
l 21-inch indoor cabinet B6030-22C-EB: 300 mm depth,used for ETSI 21-inch shelf
l 19-inch indoor cabinet B6060-22F: 600 mm depth,used for IEC 19-inch shelf

Depth). The distance between the panel and the ear mounting surface is 217 mm.Figure

The ETSI 21-inch splitter shelf dimensions are 399 mm × 535 mm × 255 mm (Height ×
Width × Depth). The distance between the panel and the ear mounting surface is 217 mm.
The ETSI 21-inch splitter shelf structure is shown in Figure 2-3.

The splitter cards are installed in the splitter shelf. Figure 2-4 shows the ETSI 21-inch

ETSI 21–inch Shelf Cascade


ZXA10 C300M/C350M supports two cascade modes.
l Single shelf unit
The uplink cascade card is only used for the uplink purpose.
l Multiple shelves unit
A master shelf cascades two slave shelves through the uplink cascade cards, see
Figure 2-5 (taking three ETSI 21–inch shelves configuration as an example).

The splitter cards are installed in the splitter shelf. Figure 2-9 shows the IEC 19–inch

The switching and control card is the service switching and control center of the system.
The switching and control card works in active-standby mode.
l For the ZXA10 C300M, the switching and control card is installed in slot 10 and slot
11.
l For the ZXA10 C350M, the switching and control card is installed in slot 6 and slot 7.

6.2 VoIP Processing Card


ZXA10 C300M/C350M supports the following VoIP processing cards.
l APP Network Processor Sub-card: MAPP daughter-card
l VoIP processing card: VPWL
l VoIP daughter-card: VOPSE/1, VOPSE/1W, and VOPSF/1W
ZXA10 C300M supports normal mode and compact mode to provide VoIP services. ZXA10
C350M only supports compact mode to provide VoIP services.
l For the normal mode, the MAPP daughter-card is inserted into the switching and
control card. The VoIP daughter-card is inserted into the VPWL card, and both the
VoIP daughter-card and the VPWL card are used together.
l For the compact mode, the VoIP daughter-card is inserted into the switching and
control card. The MAPP daughter-card and VPWL card will not be used.

6.2.1 APP Network Processor Daughter-Card


ZXA10 C300M uses the MAPP daughter-card to perform VoIP service and control stream
network address translation. It also processes ARP packets, ping packets and encrypts
card numbers for certain voice channels.

6.2.2 VoIP Processing Card


Overview
The ZXA10 C300M uses the VPWL card for VoIP processing, including TDM voice to IP
packets in upstream and IP packets to TDM voice in downstream. It provides maximum
960 channels for VoIP processing.

The VPWL card supports the following functions.


l DTMF detecting/generating
l Tone and voice generating
l CID receiving/transmitting

6.2.3 VoIP Daughter-Card


The VoIP daughter-card works as the media gateway voice processing sub-system. It
performs the translation between TDM voice signal and IP packets.
ZXA10 C300M/C350M supports the following VoIP daughter-cards.
l VOPSE/1: Supports maximum 256 voice signal processing channels, and can be
installed on the switching and control cards.
l VOPSE/1W: Supports maximum 256 voice signal processing channels, and can be
installed on the switching and control cards or VPWL card.
l VOPSF/1W: Supports maximum 512 voice signal processing channels, and can be
installed on the switching and control cards or VPWL card.

6.3 Narrowband Subscriber Cards


The ZXA10 C300M/C350M uses the following narrowband subscriber cards.

l POTS subscriber card: PTWV card


l ISDN subscriber card: DBWD card, DEWU card, and DEWB card

The POTS Subscriber cards provide 64 POTS subscriber interfaces. The POTS cards
support polarity reversal billing and 12KC/16KC billing.

The ZXA10 C300M uses the fan box for heat dissipation. The ZXA10 C350 uses the
FCWR card for heat dissipation.

6.13.1 Fan Box


Overview
The ZXA10 C300M uses fan box for heat dissipation. The fan box consists of a fan control
card and several fans. Two types of fan control cards are available: FCWB and FCWD.
The fan control card (FCWB/FCWD) provides the following functions:
l Controls the rotating speed of fans to cool the system in accordance with the
requirements for the working temperature.
l Indicates the operating status of fans.
l Controls the rotating speed of fans in accordance with the commands received from
a Network Management System (NMS).
l Reports the status of each fan to the network management system.
Table 6-79 shows the differences between the FCWB and the FCWD cards.
