TRANSISTOR

Transistor is electrical component that can be found in every electrical circuit. Transistor
ususally use as an amplifier, as a switching on electrical component, as a voltage stabilisator,
signal modulation and many more. On digital circuit, transistor can be use as super speed
switch. Some transistor also can be use as logic gate and memory.

I can say that every electrical circuit use transistor. Transistor can be use as electrical valve,
bthat based on its input current and input voltage, transistor can passing the electricity on
accurate way.

Generally, transistor has 3 terminal, its Basis (B), Emitor (E), and Colector (C). With this
electrode terminal, the voltage or current that flowing through one of three terminals will
setting the voltage and the current flow on the oter two terminals.

Nowadays, transistor has many type. Onthe beginning, transistor only have 2 type, there is
bipolar transistor (BJT), and Field Effect Transistor (FET), it has different ways to work.

1. Bipolar Transistor (BJT)

Bipolar transistor need moving load to works, transistor need the elctron on negative
pole to fill the losing hole or electron on positive pole. Bipolar is from “bi” that means
“two” and “polar” that means “pole”. Tbipolar transistor usually called as Bipolar
Junction Transistor or BJT.
There is 2 type of bipolar transistor, there is NPN transistor and PNP transistor
 NPN transistor is bipolar transistor that using low electric current and positive
voltage on basis terminal to control the bigger voltage and the current from
colector terminal to emitor terminal.
 PNP transistor is bipolar transistor that using low electric current and positive
voltage on basis terminal to control the bigger voltage and the current from
emitor terminal to colector terminal.
2. Field Effect Transistor (FET)
Field Effect Transistor or FET is transitor that using electricity to control its
conductivity. On this point, fieldeffect means the voltage that passing the Gate
terminal to control the voltage and the current on the drain terminal to the source
terminal. This transistor usually called as Unipolar Transistor, because it can be work
only depend on its load, its that electron or hole
This transistor has 3 type, there is Junction Field Effect Transistor (JFET), Metal
Oxide Semikonductor Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET), and Uni Juncton Transistor
(UJT)
 Junction Field Effect Transistor (JFET) is transistor that using P-N junction on
forward bias. JFET can be devided with 2 type there is P-channel JFET an N-
channel JFET. JFET has 3 terminals, there is Gate (G), Drain (D) and Source
(S).
 Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor (MOSFET) is transistor
that using isolator between its gate teminal and its channel. This MOSFET has
2 type, there is Depletion MOSFET and Enchancement MOSFET and each of
that transistor also has P-channel type and N-channel type.
 Uni Junction Transistor (UJT) is transistor that using field effect as it
controller. Different with the other FET, UJT has 2 terminal, there is 2 basis
terminal (its B1 and B2) and a emitor terminal. UJT has special use as a switch
and it cant be use as an amplifier like the other transistor.

We can use transistor on many ways, there is some of it:

1. Transistor as a switch
We can use transistor as a switch by setting the nput voltage, when the transistor reach
the saturated voltage, the emitor terminal and colector terminal will connect. We can
use this situation as a switch.
2. Transistor as a current amplifier
We can use transistor as a current amplifier as a power supply. We need to setting this
transistor to get the constant value on its basis terminal, so the output of the emitor
terminal has constant value too.
