2.19 Thermal management alarms.

The alarms are for fan fail, sensor fail, over temperature which is set at 60 degrees C.

Fan Fail Alarm

If the speed of the fan drops below 60% of its operating speed a General Alarm will be indicated by de-energizing the
Alarm 1 General Alarm relay and changing the LED to red.

Open/ Short Temp Sensor

If the thermistor connected to the input Temp 1 or Temp 2 is detected as either being open or short circuit then the fans
will operate at the normal high speed and general alarm will be indicated by de-energizing the General Alarm 1 Relay and
changing the colour of the LED to flashing RED.

High Temperature
If the temperature detected by the sensor connected to input Temp 1 reaches 60 Deg C the controller will indicate a High
Temperature Alarm by opening the Normally Closed contacts of the Alarm 2 Relay and the LED will flash RED/GREEN.
The High Temperature alarm will be turned off if the temperature drops to 58 Deg C

Alarm LED Priority

In the event that there are multiple alarms the controller will prioritise the alarm indication as follows
Priority 1 (highest priority) Fan Fail indicated by a Continuous RED LED
Priority 2 Thermistor fail indicated by Flashing Red LED
Priority 3 Filter Alarm indicated by Flashing Amber LED
Priority 4 Over Temperature indicated by LED Flashing Red / Green

General
In the event of a controller failure such that there is no output from the microcontroller the fans will operate at maximum
speed and the General Alarm relay will be de-energized, there will typically be no LED indication in this unlikely situation
the Over temperature and under temperature alarms will not give an alarm indication

Extra Breaker Fitting

One extra breaker can be fitted to the distribution rail

to facilitate extra equipment in the cabinet.

Remove six screw from the top and front face of the
distribution panel. If access to these screws cannot
be made, remove the panel from the cabinet by
removing the four fixings and slowly pull the panel
out. Make sure any cables don’t not foul any metal
work.

With the screws removed, pull the cover forward.

This will expose the extra space for the breaker.

Clip the additional breaker on top of the original

breaker as shown.

Link breakers using busbar and route new cable

through a grommet in the back of the panel.

Refit the top cover and label breaker.
