Note to the educator

In every school where I have taught, there is a Sunshine Committee whose sole responsibility
is to send flowers, cards and condolences to staff members who have lost loved ones or have
Y

great troubles. We each chip in a small amount of money and then the needs of the grieving
or troubled are met in a small way. As Christian educators, we are the SONshine Committee.
Christ followers are comforted by His power to bind our wounds, but what happens to those
that don’t believe? I don’t know how anyone can go through hard times without Him. We can
step up with prayers, cards, acknowledgments that we want to serve them and check in on
A

them when all the cards and calls slow down. We can be His agents of mercy during these very
difficult times of heartbreak. These difficult times are a great opportunity to show Jesus to our
hurting colleagues.

1:16 PM prayer

Please pray for a lifting of the heavy burdens our teachers are feeling.
