Our vision
Nabet India has a ambitious mission and a goal to empower the disabled community of India. Our unique
initiative has helped us reshape the lives of the disabled through technological interventions, well researched
and industry specific course curriculum.
Nabet celebratres the 09th years of its wonderful journey this fall. During this period we have crossed many
milestones and achieved phenomenal success in reshaping the lives of the disabled . We now look skywards
and aim to be reach out to more than five thousand disabled beneficiaries by end 2020.
On 26th Jan 2018, Nabet India was selected the Best NGOs by the district administration of Gurgaon. The Hon.
Education Minister of Haryana Government awarded us the prestigious honour too. We are humbled by this
honour and resolve to work even harder to achieve our goals.
Our project team have been working at the grassroots to increase access to quality education and proper skill to
narrow the bridge between the disabled and healthy people.
Our ongoing program "Project Vijay" is the largest program in terms of outreach . It is designed to encourage
entrepreneurial ventures and offer low income families the knowledge and tools required to reduce financial risk
and make informed, intelligent financial decisions. In 2018, we reached out to 567 PWD beneficiaries from low-
income families and the number of beneficiaries certified through the programme increased from 53% to a
whooping 85% this year. The quantum in numbers of PWDs passing out successfully through our programme
is a firm affirmation of our initiative.
Participants who enroll in our program get our hand holding assistance .They are not only tracked during and
post training , but alsso get job placements, life skill training etc. We grateful to our employment partners and
thank our corporate partners who offered placement support to our trainees into their workforce.
We are also honoured to have completed our programme of providing competitive coaching to our
students who prepared for various Govt/PSU examination to secure government jobs. I am happy to note that we
got success in this effort too. We are pleased to see our students selected in IBPO and Railways.
We also were proud to be a part of the Swwach Bharat Abhiyaan and our volunteers helped in
constructing toilets for our beneficiaries.
Our growing network of volunteers has given us access to help more people who need our
attention. We have opened more avenues of intervention - Our new project of empowering rural women under
Project Nabet Arts has helped us start a programme for training women on handicrafts and handloom
sector.
Today, we sit at a crossroads of tremendous opportunity with the potential to ‘build a movement’ through
knowledge sharing, cooperation, and meaningful collaboration. We look forward to working with more
communities and expanding our work in collaboration with willing partners in all sectors.
On behalf of NABET INDIA, I extend my sincere thanks to all those who have inspired us and supported our
mission, joined us to pilot, implement and expand development interventions in new areas. We truly appreciate
our partners who share our vision to improve lives and secure a brighter future for handicapped and rural
communities in India.

Discovering the Leader Within Through
Inclusion, Equality and Dignity
People with disabilities (PwDs) are subject to multiple deprivations. They are more likely to be out of school
or without any job or source of livelihood. They have much lower employment rates (and the gap is growing).
They are subject to strong social stigma within the community, which often becomes internalized. In India,
there are approximately 27 million PwDs. Decent work is the best path to self-advancement of PwDs. It
underpins the stability of communities and families, and is an integral component of strategies for
sustainable growth and development. Skills development thus holds a key to inclusive employment. NABET
INDIA through Project Vijay is building solid bridges between the world of work and skills training providers
specializing in PwDs in order to match skill sets to the needs of enterprises. The programme leads sustained
dialogue between employers, trainers, government institutions, and employment services in an advocacy
effort to promote inclusivity at the workplace, thereby opening more job opportunities for PwDs

The need to find employment for women living in rural India including those with disabilities is an
urgent need. There are millions of women in the working age group who need a source of livelihood.
However out of the available human resource only about 27% of women have jobs. Those
unemployed also include a large segment of those who are without skills necessary to become
employable. There is therefore a huge dependence on family /society and govt welfare schemes for
their sustenance .
Non participation in income generating activities result in loss of stature and decision making in the
family. Moreover lack of equal opportunities due to various reasons/constraints keep women out of
workforce and consequently not decision makers/empowered. The limited state resource
overstretched health care centres, crowded employment exchange etc leave many women distraught..
The need therefore is to create skills that lead to employment and sustained livelihood. The need is also to
move into vocations that are modern futuristic and in demand by the industry. Nabet’s extensive research on
jobs that are relevant to the industry and those that can be performed by women makes it a popular
program.
It not only generates sustained livelihood but also makes a larger statement of making such people as
contributing members of the society. They not only make themselves independent and
earning members but also become a support to their families and society. The society/Govt too benefits as
they contribute to the economic progress of the country.
The Handicraft and Handloom sector has opened a wide area of employment avenues. Handicraft sector
is an ocean of opportunities and is a huge employer. Both these sectors hold huge potential for
employment and growth. Besides these avenues have growth potential and are scalable too.
This project involves training and employment of rural women beneficiaries from various parts of India
including those who are
disabled/ marginalized section of society. It involves specialized training , making and marketing handicrafts.
It is modern, futuristic and is a proven concept. The project also involved selling of the handicrafts products
of these women in an online website www.nabetarts.com (under development) which will assist the
beneficiaries to earn after the completing their training programme.

COACHING OF PWD
PROJECT
STUDENTS FOR
SHIKSHA
COMPETITIVE EXAMINATIONS
The PWD students majorly come from poor and disadvantaged section of the society. They are faced with
enormous challenges in terms of completing their formal education and to find options of livelihood post
completing their education. The government of India has reserved certain vacancies for these meritorious
students and create a level playing field for such candidates. However , such competitive entrance
examination standards are set to be very high and require rigorous preparation and determination to
compete based on merit.
Nabet's unique programme offers coaching to such students for various common examinations such as
railways, IBPO, Staff Selection Committee etc, and our trainers ensure that the standards of training is rated
amongst the best. The lead educator in this project Prof Anunaya Chaudhary has been instrumental in
achieving great results in this effort. Out of 220 students that registered in the programme, 182 completed
the training and 10 students have been selected in government jobs in the last year and have joined their
respective organisations.
